[niv]	And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled his temple.

[niv]	Then Solomon said, "The LORD has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud;

[niv]	I have indeed built a magnificent temple for you, a place for you to dwell forever."
[asv]	I have surely built thee a house of habitation, a place for thee to dwell in for ever.

[niv]	Then he said: "Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, who with his own hand has fulfilled what he promised with his own mouth to my father David. For he said,
[asv]	And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spake with his mouth unto David thy father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
[jnd]	And he said: Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

[niv]	`Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built for my Name to be there, but I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.'

[niv]	"My father David had it in his heart to build a temple for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
[asv]	Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

[niv]	Nevertheless, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, who is your own flesh and blood--he is the one who will build the temple for my Name.'
[asv]	nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

[niv]	"The LORD has kept the promise he made: I have succeeded David my father and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the LORD promised, and I have built the temple for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
[asv]	And Jehovah hath established his word that he spake; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and have built the house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.
