[niv] Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, `The LORD did not appear to you'?"
[asv] And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice; for they will say, Jehovah hath not appeared unto thee.
[jnd] And Moses answered and said, But behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice; for they will say, Jehovah has not appeared to thee.

[bbe] And Moses, answering, said, It is certain that they will not have faith in me or give ear to my voice; for they will say, You have not seen the Lord.
4:2

[niv] Then the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" "A staff," he replied.

[niv] Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand.

4:5

[niv] "This," said the LORD, "is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has appeared to you."
[asv] That they may believe that Jehovah, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

4:6

[niv] Then the LORD said, "Put your hand inside your cloak." So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was leprous, like snow.
[asv] And Jehovah said furthermore unto him, Put now thy hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

4:8
[cbgb] 又说，倘或他们不听你的话，也不信头一个　神迹，他们必信第二个　神迹。 < | >
[niv] Then the LORD said, "If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first miraculous sign, they may believe the second.
[asv] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
[jnd] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the other sign.
[kjv] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
[nwb] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
[rsv] "If they will not believe you," God said, "or heed the first sign, they may believe the latter sign.
[web] . "It will happen, if they will neither believe you nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
[ylt] `-- and it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence to thee, and hearken not to the voice of the first sign, that they have given credence to the voice of the latter sign.
[bbe] And if they do not have faith in you or give ear to the voice of the first sign, they will have faith in the second sign.
4:9
[cbgb] 这两个　神迹若都不信，也不听你的话，你就从河里取些水，倒在旱地上，你从河里取的水必在旱地上变作血。 < | >
[niv] But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground."
[asv] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
[jnd] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also those two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour on the dry ; and the water that thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry .
[kjv] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
[nwb] And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken to thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour upon the dry and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry .
[rsv] If they will not believe even these two signs or heed your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it upon the dry ground; and the water which you shall take from the Nile will become blood upon the dry ground."
[web] It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land."
[ylt] `And it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence even to these two signs, nor hearken to thy voice, that thou hast taken of the waters of the River, and hast poured on the dry land, and the waters which thou takest from the River have been, yea, they have become -- blood on the dry land.'
[bbe] And if they have no faith even in these two signs and will not give ear to your voice, then you are to take the water of the Nile and put it on the dry land: and the water you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.
4:10
[cbgb] 摩西对耶和华说，主阿，我素日不是能言的人，就是从你对仆人说话以后，也是这样。我本是拙口笨舌的。 < | >
[niv] Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."
[asv] And Moses said unto Jehovah, Oh, Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
[jnd] And Moses said to Jehovah, Ah Lord! I am not eloquent, neither heretofore nor since thou hast spoken to thy servant, for I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue.
[kjv] And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
[nwb] And Moses said to the LORD, O my Lord, I not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoke to thy servant: but I slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
[rsv] But Moses said to the LORD, "Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either heretofore or since thou hast spoken to thy servant; but I am slow of speech and of tongue."
[web] . Moses said to Yahweh, "Oh, Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue."
[ylt] And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `O, my Lord, I not a man of words, either yesterday, or before, or since Thy speaking unto Thy servant, for I slow of mouth, and slow of tongue.'
[bbe] And Moses said to the Lord, O Lord, I am not a man of words; I have never been so, and am not now, even after what you have said to your servant: for talking is hard for me, and I am slow of tongue.
4:11
[cbgb] 耶和华对他说，谁造人的口呢，谁使人口哑，耳聋，目明，眼瞎呢，岂不是我耶和华麽？ < | >
[niv] The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
[asv] And Jehovah said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? Or who maketh a man dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, Jehovah?
[jnd] And Jehovah said to him, Who gave man a mouth? or who maketh dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? not I, Jehovah?
[kjv] And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
[nwb] And the LORD said to him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD.
[rsv] Then the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
[web] . Yahweh said to him, "Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn't it I, Yahweh?
[ylt] And Jehovah saith unto him, `Who appointed a mouth for man? or who appointeth the dumb, or deaf, or open, or blind? is it not I, Jehovah?
[bbe] And the Lord said to him, Who has made man's mouth? who takes away a man's voice or hearing, or makes him seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
4:12
[cbgb] 现在去吧，我必赐你口才，指教你所当说的话。 < | >
[niv] Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
[asv] Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt speak.

[niv] But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it."
[asv] And he said, Oh, Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

[kjv] And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
[nwb] And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand thou wilt send.
[rsv] But he said, "Oh, my Lord, send, I pray, some other person."
[web] . He said, "Oh, Lord, please send someone else."
[ylt] and he saith, `O, my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand Thou dost send.'
[bbe] And he said, O Lord, send, if you will, by the hand of anyone whom it seems good to you to send.

[cbgb] 耶和华向摩西发怒说，不是有你的哥哥利未人亚伦麽，我知道他是能言的，现在他出来迎接你，他一见你，心里就欢喜。 < | >
[niv] Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you.
[asv] And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is there not Aaron thy brother the Levite? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
[jnd] Then the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also behold, he goeth out to meet thee; and when he seeth thee he will be glad in his heart.

[web] . The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Moses, and he said, "What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes forth to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.
[ylt] And the anger of Jehovah burneth against Moses, and He saith, `Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I have known that he speaketh well, and also, lo, he is coming out to meet thee; when he hath seen thee, then he hath rejoiced in his heart,
[bbe] And the Lord was angry with Moses, and said, Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? To my knowledge he is good at talking. And now he is coming out to you: and when he sees you he will be glad in his heart.
4:15

[niv] You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do.
[asv] And thou shalt speak unto him, and put the words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

[niv] He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.
[asv] And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people; and it shall come to pass, that he shall be to thee a mouth, and thou shalt be to him as God.
[jnd] And he shall speak for thee unto the people; and it shall come to pass that he shall be to thee for a mouth, and thou shalt be to him for God.
[kjv] And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
[nwb] And he shall speak for thee to the people: and he shall be, he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
[rsv] He shall speak for you to the people; and he shall be a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God.

[bbe] And he will do the talking for you to the people: he will be to you as a mouth and you will be to him as God.
4:17

[niv] But take this staff in your hand so you can perform miraculous signs with it."
[asv] And thou shalt take in thy hand this rod, wherewith thou shalt do the signs.

[niv] Then Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, "Let me go back to my own people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive." Jethro said, "Go, and I wish you well."
[asv] And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren that are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
[jnd] And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return to my brethren who are in Egypt, that I may see whether they are yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

[niv] Now the LORD had said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead."

[niv] The LORD said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
[asv] And Jehovah said unto Moses, When thou goest back into Egypt, see that thou do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in thy hand: but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

[niv] So the LORD let him alone. (At that time she said "bridegroom of blood," referring to circumcision.)
