[jnd] And Abram was ninety-nine years old, when Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said to him, I the Almighty 鵊od: walk before my face, and be perfect.

[bbe] When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord came to him, and said, I am God, Ruler of all; go in my ways and be upright in all things,
17:2

[niv] I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers."
[asv] And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

[niv] "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
[asv] As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations.

[niv] No longer will you be called Abram ; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
[asv] Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.
[jnd] And thy name shall no more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.

[niv] I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
[asv] And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

[niv] I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
[asv] And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.

[niv] The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God."
[asv] And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

17:9

[niv] Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.

[niv] This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.
[asv] This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee: every male among you shall be circumcised.

[niv] You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.
[asv] And ye shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of a covenant betwixt me and you.

[niv] For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner--those who are not your offspring.
[asv] And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any foreigner that is not of thy seed.
[jnd] And at eight days old shall every male in your generations be circumcised among you -- he who is born in the house, and he who is bought with money, any stranger who is not of thy seed.
[kjv] And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

[niv] Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.
[asv] He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
[jnd] He who is born in thy house, and he who is bought with thy money, must be circumcised; and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

[niv] Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."
[asv] And the uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
[jnd] And the uncircumcised male who hath not been circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his peoples: he hath broken my covenant.
[kjv] And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
[nwb] And the uncircumcised male-child, whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

[jnd] And God said to Abraham, Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.

17:16

[niv] I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."
[asv] And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.

17:17

[niv] Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?"
[asv] Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
[jnd] And Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall be born to him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear?
[kjv] Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
[nwb] Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall be born to him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear?
[rsv] Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said to himself, "Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"
[web] . Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?"
[ylt] And Abraham falleth upon his face, and laugheth, and saith in his heart, `To the son of an hundred years is one born? or doth Sarah -- daughter of ninety years -- bear?'
[bbe] Then Abraham went down on his face, and laughing, said in his heart, May a man a hundred years old have a child? will Sarah, at ninety years old, give birth?
17:18

[niv] And Abraham said to God, "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!"
[asv] And Abraham said unto God, Oh that Ishmael might live before thee!

[kjv] And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
[nwb] And Abraham said to God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
[rsv] And Abraham said to God, "O that Ish'mael might live in thy sight!"

[ylt] And Abraham saith unto God, `O that Ishmael may live before Thee;'
[bbe] And Abraham said to God, If only Ishmael's life might be your care!
17:19
[cbgb] 　神说，不然，你妻子撒拉要给你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫以撒。我要与他坚定所立的约，作他后裔永远的约。 < | >
[niv] Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
[asv] And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
[jnd] And God said, Sarah thy wife shall indeed bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him, for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
[kjv] And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
[nwb] And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, with his seed after him.
[rsv] God said, "No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
[web] . God said, "No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
[ylt] and God saith, `Sarah thy wife is certainly bearing a son to thee, and thou hast called his name Isaac, and I have established My covenant with him, for a covenant age-during, to his seed after him.
[bbe] And God said, Not so; but Sarah, your wife, will have a son, and you will give him the name Isaac, and I will make my agreement with him for ever and with his seed after him.
17:20
[cbgb] 至于以实玛利，我也应允你，我必赐福给他，使他昌盛极其繁多，他必生十二个族长，我也要使他成为大国。 < | >
[niv] And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.
[asv] And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

[bbe] As for Ishmael, I have given ear to your prayer: truly I have given him my blessing and I will make him fertile and give him great increase; he will be the father of twelve chiefs, and I will make him a great nation.
17:21
[cbgb] 到明年这时节，撒拉必给你生以撒，我要与他坚定所立的约。 < | >
[niv] But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."
[asv] But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
[jnd] But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to thee at this appointed time in the next year.

[niv] On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.
[asv] And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.
