16:2

[niv] so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.
[asv] And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
[jnd] And Sarai said to Abram, Behold now, Jehovah has shut me up, that I do not bear. Go in, I pray thee, to my maidservant: it may be that I shall be built up by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
[kjv] And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
[nwb] And Sarai said to Abram, Behold, now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee go in to my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
[rsv] and Sar'ai said to Abram, "Behold now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children; go in to my maid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her." And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sar'ai.
[web] Sarai said to Abram," See now, Yahweh has restrained me from bearing. Please go in to my handmaid. It may be that I will obtain children by her." Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
[ylt] and Sarai saith unto Abram, `Lo, I pray thee, Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing, go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; perhaps I am built up from her;' and Abram hearkeneth to the voice of Sarai.
[bbe] And Sarai said to Abram, See, the Lord has not let me have children; go in to my servant, for I may get a family through her. And Abram did as Sarai said.
16:3
[cbgb] 于是亚伯兰的妻子撒莱将使女埃及人夏甲给了丈夫为妾。那时亚伯兰在迦南已经住了十年。 < | >
[niv] So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.
[asv] And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to Abram her husband to be his wife.
[jnd] And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar, the Egyptian, her maidservant, at the end of ten years that Abram had dwelt in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram, as his wife.

[ylt] And Sarai, Abram's wife, taketh Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, at the end of the tenth year of Abram's dwelling in the land of Canaan, and giveth her to Abram her husband, to him for a wife,
[bbe] So after Abram had been living for ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai took Hagar, her Egyptian servant, and gave her to Abram for his wife.
16:4

[niv] He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.
[asv] And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
[jnd] And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was lightly esteemed in her eyes.

16:5

[niv] Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me."
[asv] And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into they bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: Jehovah judge between me and thee.
[jnd] And Sarai said to Abram, My wrong be on thee! I have given my maidservant into thy bosom; and now she sees that she has conceived, I am lightly esteemed in her eyes. Jehovah judge between me and thee!
[kjv] And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.

[rsv] And Sar'ai said to Abram, "May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my maid to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me!"
[web] Sarai said to Abram, "This wrong is your fault. I gave my handmaid into your bosom, and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes. Yahweh judge between me and you."
[ylt] And Sarai saith unto Abram, `My violence for thee; I -- I have given mine handmaid into thy bosom, and she seeth that she hath conceived, and I am lightly esteemed in her eyes; Jehovah doth judge between me and thee.'
[bbe] And Sarai said to Abram, May my wrong be on you: I gave you my servant for your wife and when she saw that she was with child, she no longer had any respect for me: may the Lord be judge between you and me.
16:6

[niv] "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.
[asv] But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and she fled from her face.
[jnd] And Abram said to Sarai, Behold, thy maidservant is in thy hand: do to her what is good in thine eyes. And Sarai oppressed her; and she fled from her face.
[kjv] But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

[ylt] And Abram saith unto Sarai, `Lo, thine handmaid in thine hand, do to her that which is good in thine eyes;' and Sarai afflicted her, and she fleeth from her presence.
[bbe] And Abram said, The woman is in your power; do with her whatever seems good to you. And Sarai was cruel to her, so that she went running away from her.
16:7

[niv] The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur.

16:8
[cbgb] 对她说，撒莱的使女夏甲，你从哪里来，要往哪里去。夏甲说，我从我的主母撒莱面前逃出来。 < | >
[niv] And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.
[asv] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[jnd] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maidservant, whence comest thou? and whither art thou going? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[kjv] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[nwb] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[rsv] And he said, "Hagar, maid of Sar'ai, where have you come from and where are you going?" She said, "I am fleeing from my mistress Sar'ai."
[web] He said, "Hagar, Sarai's handmaid, where did you come from? Where are you going?"She said, "I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai."
[ylt] and he saith, `Hagar, Sarai's handmaid, whence hast thou come, and whither dost thou go?' and she saith, `From the presence of Sarai, my mistress, I am fleeing.'
[bbe] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's servant, where have you come from and where are you going? And she said, I am running away from Sarai, my master's wife.
16:9

[niv] Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

[ylt] And the messenger of Jehovah saith to her, `Turn back unto thy mistress, and humble thyself under her hands;'
[bbe] And the angel said to her, Go back, and put yourself under her authority.
16:10
[cbgb] 又说，我必使你的后裔极其繁多，甚至不可胜数。 < | >
[niv] The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah said to her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
[nwb] And the angel of the LORD said to her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
[rsv] The angel of the LORD also said to her, "I will so greatly multiply your descendants that they cannot be numbered for multitude."
[web] The angel of Yahweh said to her, "I will greatly multiply your seed, that they will not be numbered for multitude."
[ylt] and the messenger of Jehovah saith to her, `Multiplying I multiply thy seed, and it is not numbered from multitude;'
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said, Your seed will be greatly increased so that it may not be numbered.
16:11
[cbgb] 并说，你如今怀孕要生一个儿子，可以给他起名叫以实玛利，因为耶和华听见了你的苦情。（以实玛利就是　神听见的意思） < | >
[niv] The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah hath heard thy affliction.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah said to her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah hath hearkened to thy affliction.

[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said, See, you are with child and will give birth to a son, to whom you will give the name Ishmael, because the ears of the Lord were open to your sorrow.
16:12
[cbgb] 他为人必像野驴。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他。他必住在众弟兄的东边。 < | >
[niv] He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
[asv] And he shall be as a wild ass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his brethren.
[jnd] And he will be a wild-ass of a man, his hand against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell before the face of all his brethren.
[kjv] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

[niv] She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."
[asv] And she called the name of Jehovah that spake unto her, Thou art a God that seeth: for she said, Have I even here looked after him that seeth me?
[jnd] And she called the name of Jehovah who spoke to her, Thou art the 鵊od who reveals himself, for she said, Also here have I seen after he has revealed himself.
[kjv] And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
[nwb] And she called the name of the LORD that spoke to her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
[rsv] So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "Thou art a God of seeing"; for she said, "Have I really seen God and remained alive after seeing him?"
[web] . She called the name of Yahweh who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees," for she said, "Have I even stayed alive after seeing him?"
[ylt] And she calleth the name of Jehovah who is speaking unto her, `Thou , O God, my beholder;' for she said, `Even here have I looked behind my beholder?'
[bbe] And to the Lord who was talking with her she gave this name, You are a God who is seen; for she said, Have I not even here in the waste land had a vision of God and am still living?
16:14
[cbgb] 所以这井名叫庇耳拉海莱。这井正在加低斯和巴列中间。 < | >
[niv] That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi ; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
[asv] Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
[jnd] Therefore the well was named Beer-lahai-roi: behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
[kjv] Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
[nwb] Wherefore the well was called Beer-la-hai-roi; behold, between Kadesh and Bered.
[rsv] Therefore the well was called Beer-la'hai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered.
[web] Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi. Behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
[ylt] therefore hath one called the well, `The well of the Living One, my beholder;' lo, between Kadesh and Bered.
[bbe] So that fountain was named, Fountain of Life and Vision: it is between Kadesh and Bered.

[niv] So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
[asv] And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bare, Ishmael.
[jnd] And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

[niv] Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
[asv] And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.
[jnd] And Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
