[niv]	After a long time had passed and the LORD had given Israel rest from all their enemies around them, Joshua, by then old and well advanced in years,
[asv]	And it came to pass after many days, when Jehovah had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua was old and well stricken in years;
[jnd]	And it came to pass a long time after that Jehovah had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua had become old, advanced in age,

[niv]	summoned all Israel--their elders, leaders, judges and officials--and said to them: "I am old and well advanced in years.

[niv]	You yourselves have seen everything the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the LORD your God who fought for you.
[asv]	and ye have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for Jehovah your God, he it is that hath fought for you.
[jnd]	and ye have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done to all these nations because of you. For Jehovah your God is he that hath fought for you.

23:4
[cbgb]	我所剪除和所剩下的各国，从约旦河起到日落之处的大海，我已经拈阄分给你们各支派为业。 < \| >
[niv]	Remember how I have allotted as an inheritance for your tribes all the land of the nations that remain--the nations I conquered--between the Jordan and the Great Sea in the west.
[asv]	Behold, I have allotted unto you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun.
[jnd]	Behold, I have divided unto you by lot for an inheritance, according to your tribes, these nations that remain, from the Jordan, as well as all the nations that I have cut off, as far as the great sea toward the sun-setting.

[cbgb]	耶和华你们的　神必将他们从你们面前赶出去，使他们离开你们，你们就必得他们的地为业，正如耶和华你们的　神所应许的。 < \| >
[niv]	The LORD your God himself will drive them out of your way. He will push them out before you, and you will take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.
[asv]	And Jehovah your God, he will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as Jehovah your God spake unto you.
[jnd]	And Jehovah your God, he will expel them from before you, and dispossess them from out of your sight; and ye shall take possession of their land, as Jehovah your God hath said unto you.

[niv]	"Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left.

[niv]	Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them.
[asv]	that ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves unto them;

[niv]	"The LORD has driven out before you great and powerful nations; to this day no one has been able to withstand you.
[asv]	For Jehovah hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath stood before you unto this day.
[jnd]	For Jehovah hath dispossessed from before you great and strong nations; and as to you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
[kjv]	For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.

[niv]	One of you routs a thousand, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as he promised.
[asv]	One man of you shall chase a thousand; for Jehovah your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he spake unto you.
[jnd]	One man of you chaseth a thousand; for Jehovah your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath said unto you.
[kjv]	One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

[rsv]	One man of you puts to flight a thousand, since it is the LORD your God who fights for you, as he promised you.

[niv]	So be very careful to love the LORD your God.
[asv]	Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love Jehovah your God.
[jnd]	Take great heed therefore unto your souls, that ye love Jehovah your God.

[nwb]	Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.

[niv]	"But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them,
[asv]	Else if ye do at all go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you;
[jnd]	For if ye in any wise go back, and cleave unto the residue of these nations, these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and come in unto them and they unto you:

[cbgb]	你们要确实知道，耶和华你们的　神必不再将他们从你们眼前赶出。他们却要成为你们的网罗，机槛，肋上的鞭，眼中的刺，直到你们在耶和华你们　神所赐的这美地上灭亡。 < \| >
[niv]	then you may be sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become snares and traps for you, whips on your backs and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land, which the LORD your God has given you.
[asv]	know for a certainty that Jehovah your God will no more drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap unto you, and a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.

[niv]	"Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
[asv]	And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which Jehovah your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, not one thing hath failed thereof.
[jnd]	And behold, I am going this day the way of all the earth; and ye know in all your heart, and in all your soul, that not one thing hath failed of all the good words that Jehovah your God hath spoken concerning you: all are come to pass unto you -- not one thing hath failed thereof.

[bbe]	Now I am about to go the way of all the earth: and you have seen and are certain, all of you, in your hearts and souls, that in all the good things which the Lord said about you, he has kept faith with you; everything has come true for you.
23:15
[cbgb]	耶和华你们　神所应许的一切福气怎样临到你们身上，耶和华也必照样使各样祸患临到你们身上，直到把你们从耶和华你们　神所赐的这美地上除灭。 < \| >
[niv]	But just as every good promise of the LORD your God has come true, so the LORD will bring on you all the evil he has threatened, until he has destroyed you from this good land he has given you.
[asv]	And it shall come to pass, that as all the good things are come upon you of which Jehovah your God spake unto you, so will Jehovah bring upon you all the evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.
[jnd]	But it shall come to pass, that as every good word hath been fulfilled to you, that Jehovah your God spoke to you, so will Jehovah bring upon you every evil word, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you;
[kjv]	Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
[nwb]	Therefore it shall come to pass, as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he hath destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

[ylt]	`And it hath been, as there hath come upon you all the good thing which Jehovah your God hath spoken unto you, so doth Jehovah bring upon you the whole of the evil thing, till His destroying you from off this good ground which Jehovah your God hath given to you;
[bbe]	And you will see that, as all the good things which the Lord your God undertook to do for you, have come to you, so the Lord will send down on you all the evil things till he has made your destruction complete, and you are cut off from the good land which the Lord your God has given you.
23:16
[cbgb]	你们若违背耶和华你们　神吩咐你们所守的约，去事奉别　神，叩拜他，耶和华的怒气必向你们发作，使你们在他所赐的美地上速速灭亡。 <
[niv]	If you violate the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the LORD's anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land he has given you."
[asv]	When ye transgress the covenant of Jehovah your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them; then will the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.

[bbe]	If the agreement of the Lord your God, which was given to you by his orders, is broken, and you become the servants of other gods and give them worship, then the wrath of the Lord will be burning against you, and you will quickly be cut off from the good land which he has given you.
