[niv] "Speak to the Israelites and get twelve staffs from them, one from the leader of each of their ancestral tribes. Write the name of each man on his staff.
[asv] Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of them rods, one for each fathers' house, of all their princes according to their fathers' houses, twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod.

[niv] On the staff of Levi write Aaron's name, for there must be one staff for the head of each ancestral tribe.

[niv] Place them in the Tent of Meeting in front of the Testimony, where I meet with you.

[niv] The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid myself of this constant grumbling against you by the Israelites."
[asv] And it shall come to pass, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.
[jnd] And it shall come to pass, that the man whom I shall choose, his staff shall bud forth; and I will make to cease from before me the murmurings of the children of Israel, that they murmur against you.
[kjv] And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
[nwb] And it shall come to pass, the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, by which they murmur against you.

[bbe] And the rod of that man who is marked out by me for myself will have buds on it; so I will put a stop to the outcries which the children of Israel make to me against you.
17:6

[niv] So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and their leaders gave him twelve staffs, one for the leader of each of their ancestral tribes, and Aaron's staff was among them.
[asv] And Moses spake unto the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

17:7

[niv] The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron's staff, which represented the house of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.
[asv] And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and put forth buds, and produced blossoms, and bare ripe almonds.
[jnd] And it came to pass, when on the morrow Moses went into the tent of the testimony, behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and ripened almonds.
[kjv] And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

[ylt] And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that Moses goeth in unto the tent of the testimony, and lo, the rod of Aaron hath flourished for the house of Levi, and is bringing out flourishing, and doth blossom blossoms, and doth produce almonds;
[bbe] Now on the day after, Moses went into the Tent of witness; and he saw that Aaron's rod, the rod of the house of Levi, had put out buds, and was covered with buds and flowers and fruit.
17:9

[niv] Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORD's presence to all the Israelites. They looked at them, and each man took his own staff.
[asv] And Moses brought out all the rods from before Jehovah unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
[jnd] And Moses brought out all the staves from before Jehovah to all the children of Israel, and they looked and took each one his staff.

17:10
[cbgb] 耶和华吩咐摩西说，把亚伦的杖还放在法柜前，给这些背叛之子留作记号。这样，你就使他们向我发的怨言止息，免得他们死亡。 < | >
[niv] The LORD said to Moses, "Put back Aaron's staff in front of the Testimony, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die."
[asv] And Jehovah said unto Moses, Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that thou mayest make an end of their murmurings against me, that they die not.
[jnd] And Jehovah said to Moses, Bring Aaron's staff again before the testimony, to be kept as a token for the sons of rebellion, that thou mayest put an end to their murmurings before me, that they may not die.
[kjv] And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
[nwb] And the LORD said to Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again, before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
[rsv] And the LORD said to Moses, "Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept as a sign for the rebels, that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, lest they die."
[web] Yahweh said to Moses, Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die.
[ylt] And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Put back the rod of Aaron, before the testimony, for a charge, for a sign to the sons of rebellion, and thou dost remove their murmurings from off me, and they do not die;'
[bbe] And the Lord said to Moses, Put Aaron's rod back in front of the ark of witness, to be kept for a sign against this false-hearted people, so that you may put a stop to their outcries against me, and death may not overtake them.
17:11

[niv] Moses did just as the LORD commanded him.
[asv] Thus did Moses: as Jehovah commanded him, so did he.

17:12

[niv] The Israelites said to Moses, "We will die! We are lost, we are all lost!
[asv] And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone.
[jnd] And the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Lo, we expire, we perish, we all perish.
[kjv] And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.
[nwb] And the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.
[rsv] And the people of Israel said to Moses, "Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone.

[ylt] And the sons of Israel speak unto Moses, saying, `Lo, we have expired; we have perished; we have all of us perished;
[bbe] And the children of Israel said to Moses, Truly, destruction has come on us; an evil fate has overtaken us all.
17:13
[cbgb] 凡挨近耶和华帐幕的是必死的。我们都要死亡麽， <
[niv] Anyone who even comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all going to die?"
[asv] Every one that cometh near, that cometh near unto the tabernacle of Jehovah, dieth: shall we perish all of us?
[jnd] Every one that comes at all near to the tabernacle of Jehovah shall die: shall we then expire altogether?
[kjv] Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?
[nwb] Whoever approacheth the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?
[rsv] Every one who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of the LORD, shall die. Are we all to perish?"
[web] Everyone who comes near, who comes near to the tent of Yahweh, dies: shall we perish all of us?
[ylt] any who is at all drawing near unto the tabernacle of Jehovah dieth; have we not been consumed -- to expire?'
[bbe] Death will overtake everyone who comes near, who comes near the House of the Lord: are we all to come to destruction?
