I am a Christian. Am I already saved?

Many Christians may not be clear on how to answer this question. On the surface, there are several conflicting passages in the Holy Bible , such as: 1.[Mark 16:16]"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." 2.[1 Corinthians 9:27]"...lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified." However, there is actually no conflict because: 1.[Psalms 12:6]"The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times." 2.[Titus 1:2]"...which God, who never lies..." God cannot be deceitful. Let's look at this scripture: [1 Thessalonians 5:23]"Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." Clearly, the Holy Bible reveals to us that Christians are composed of three parts: spirit, soul, and body. Adam was also created with these three parts. Later, Adam listened to Eve and ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which God had commanded him not to eat, and he died. What died? It refers to his spirit. This means that Adam was separated from the life of God. Those who were not baptized into Jesus Christ only have a soul and a body. We were baptized into Christ Jesus, after then we have a spirit, a soul, and a body. This is because: 1.[John 3:5]"Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.'" 2.[John 3:6]"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." Both of these scriptures indicate that baptized Christians have a spirit, distinguishing them from unbaptized Gentiles. Understanding this makes it easier to analyze the Word of truth. Because: We must rightly analyze the Word of truth [2 Timothy 2:15].

[Scripture:] [Matthew 5:13]"You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet."

[Analysis:] The "salt" mentioned here refers to Christians; "lost its taste" refers to not practicing righteousness, because: [1 John 3:7]" Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous." "no longer good for anything" refers to the end of the world, after the new heaven and new earth; "to be thrown out" refers to the body cannot be redeemed and the soul not being able to enter the holy city, but only remaining outside. [Revelation 22:15]"Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood." The "people" of "trampled under people's feet" refers to righteous Christians who practice righteousness. [Revelation 21:3]"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.'"

Justification by faith refers to baptism into Jesus Christ, he was cleansed from his former sins, and God considers us righteous. After being justified by faith, God requires us to do all kinds of good works. [3 John 1:11]"Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God." This refers to two types of Christians: the righteous among the righteous and the wicked among the righteous. Understanding this analysis the following scripture easier to understand.

[Scripture:] [Matthew 13:48-50]"When it was full, men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good into containers but threw away the bad. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

[Analysis:] The "righteous" in "separate the evil from the righteous" refers to those justified by faith, while the "evil" refers to those who, after baptism, fail to live up to God's expectations, their bodies cannot be redeemed, and they are burned in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur—how terrible! Burned for a very, very long time, yet not killed, and then thrown outside the new heaven and new earth, how terrible! Would you rather not be thrown into the lake that burns with fire and sulfur?! [James 2:13]"For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment." Now let's return to the main topic.

[Scripture:] [Mark 16:16]"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."

[Analysis:] "Will be saved" refers to the soul will be saved.

[Scripture:] [1 Corinthians 3:15]"If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire."

[Analysis:] "If anyone's work is burned up" refers to not doing righteousness and committing evil, meaning the body cannot be saved; "he himself will be saved" refers to the soul be saved.

[Scripture:] [1 Corinthians 5:5]"you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord."

[Analysis:] "for the destruction of the flesh" means the body cannot be saved; "so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord" means the soul is saved, not spirit, only soul, because his spirit was dead before. Of course, it can also be said that his spirit may be saved, Because his dead spirit is with his soul. Because the soul and the spirit are like the relationship between the bone and the bone marrow [Hebrews 4:12].

[Scripture:] [1 Corinthians 15:2]"and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain."

[Analysis:] "Salvation" refers to the salvation of the soul and the redemption of the body. Somebody might say,"I only need my soul to be saved; whether my body is redeemed or not doesn't matter." But do you know that there is no light outside the city of the new heaven and new earth? Would you willingly be blind from birth? And blind forever and ever. [Hebrews 10:31]"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."More importantly, look at the next Scripture.

[Scripture:] [1 Corinthians 6:13]"'Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food'—and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body."

[Analysis:] God's will is that Christians, after baptism, should do righteousness, so that the body can be redeemed—this is what the Lord desires.

[Scripture:] [2 Thessalonians 2:10-12]"and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

[Analysis:] "Condemned" refers to the wicked among the righteous. [Romans 6:23]"For the wages of sin is death..." This refers to the body cannot be redeemed.

[Scripture:] [1 Peter 4:18]"If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"

[Analysis:] "The righteous" refers to the righteous among the righteous (justified by faith) who do righteousness; "the ungodly and the sinner" refers to the wicked among the righteous (justified by faith) who do evil.

[Scripture:] [Matthew 25:32]"Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats."

[Analysis:] "All the nations" refers to Christians. Because: [1 Peter 4:17]"For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God..." "Sheep" refers to the righteous among the righteous (justified by faith) who do righteousness; "goats" refers to the wicked among the righteous (justified by faith) who do evil.

Therefore: When we believe and are baptized into Jesus Christ, he was cleansed from his former sins [2 Peter 1:9]. God sees us as righteous, and our souls are saved. To attain the redemption of the body, he must do righteousness until he is dead. Therefore, Paul said: [Philippians 3:13-14]"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
