    1[和合本]耶和华的话临到亚米太的儿子约拿,说:

    6[和合本]船主到他那里对他说:“你这沉睡的人哪,为何这样呢?起来,求告你的神,或者神顾念我们,使我们不至灭亡。”

    [WEB]So the ship master came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God!or, gods Maybe your Godor, gods will notice us, so that we won’t perish.”
    [ASV]So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
    7[和合本]船上的人彼此说:“来吧!我们掣签,看看这灾临到我们是因谁的缘故。”于是他们掣签,掣出约拿来。
    [拼音]chuán shàng de rén bǐ cǐ shuō,lái ba,wǒ mén chè qiān,kàn kàn zhè zāi lín dào wǒ mén shì yīn shuí de yuán gù。yú shì tā mén chè qiān,chè chū yuē ná lái。
    [WEB]They all said to each other, “Come, let us cast lots, that we may know who is responsible for this evil that is on us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.
    [ASV]And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
    8[和合本]众人对他说:“请你告诉我们,这灾临到我们是因谁的缘故?你以何事为业?你从哪里来?你是哪一国、属哪一族的人?”
    [拼音]zhòng rén duì tā shuō,qǐng nǐ gào sù wǒ mén,zhè zāi lín dào wǒ mén shì yīn shuí de yuán gù。nǐ yǐ hé shì wèi yè。nǐ cóng nà lǐ lái。nǐ shì nǎ yī guó,shǔ nà yī zú de rén。
    [WEB]Then they asked him, “Tell us, please, for whose cause this evil is on us. What is your occupation? Where do you come from? What is your country? Of what people are you?”
    [ASV]Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; what is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?
    9[和合本]他说:“我是希伯来人。我敬畏耶和华那创造沧海旱地之天上的上帝。”
    [拼音]tā shuō,wǒ shì xī bó lái rén。wǒ jìng wèi yē hé huá,nà chuàng zào cāng hǎi hàn dì zhī tiān shàng de shén。
    [WEB]He said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear Yahweh, the GodThe Hebrew word rendered “God” is “אֱלֹהִ֑ים” (Elohim). of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.”
    [ASV]And he said unto them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear Jehovah, the God of heaven, who hath made the sea and the dry land.
    10[和合本]他们就大大惧怕,对他说:“你作的是什么事呢?”他们已经知道他躲避耶和华,因为他告诉了他们。

    [WEB]Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, “What have you done?” For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of Yahweh, because he had told them.

    11[和合本]他们问他说:“我们当向你怎样行,使海浪平静呢?”这话是因海浪越发翻腾。

    [WEB]Then they said to him, “What shall we do to you, that the sea may be calm to us?” For the sea grew more and more stormy.
    [ASV]Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea grew more and more tempestuous.
    12[和合本]他对他们说:“你们将我抬起来,抛在海中,海就平静了。我知道你们遭这大风是因我的缘故。”

    [WEB]He said to them, “Take me up, and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will be calm for you; for I know that because of me this great storm is on you.”

    13[和合本]然而那些人竭力荡桨,要把船拢岸,却是不能,因为海浪越发向他们翻腾。

    14[和合本]他们便求告耶和华说:“耶和华啊,我们恳求你,不要因这人的性命使我们死亡,不要使流无辜血的罪归与我们,因为你耶和华是随自己的意旨行事。”

    [WEB]Therefore they cried to Yahweh, and said, “We beg you, Yahweh, we beg you, don’t let us die for this man’s life, and don’t lay on us innocent blood; for you, Yahweh, have done as it pleased you.”
    [ASV]Wherefore they cried unto Jehovah, and said, We beseech thee, O Jehovah, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man’s life, and lay not upon us innocent blood; for thou, O Jehovah, hast done as it pleased thee.
    15[和合本]他们遂将约拿抬起,抛在海中,海的狂浪就平息了。
    [拼音]tā mén suì jiāng yuē ná tái qǐ,pāo zài hǎi zhōng,hǎi de kuáng làng jìu píng xí le。
    [WEB]So they took up Jonah, and threw him into the sea; and the sea ceased its raging.

    16[和合本]那些人便大大敬畏耶和华,向耶和华献祭,并且许愿。

    17[和合本]耶和华安排一条大鱼吞了约拿,他在鱼腹中三日三夜。

    [WEB]Yahweh prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
