[cbgb] 耶和华对撒母耳说，我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角，我差遣你往伯利恒人耶西那里去。因为我在他众子之内，预定一个作王的。 >
[niv] The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king."
[asv] And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.
[jnd] And Jehovah said to Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

[rsv] The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you grieve over Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons."

[ylt] And Jehovah saith unto Samuel, `Till when art thou mourning for Saul, and I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go, I send thee unto Jesse the Beth-Lehemite, for I have seen among his sons for Myself a king.
[bbe] And the Lord said to Samuel, How long will you go on sorrowing for Saul, seeing that I have put him from his place as king over Israel? Take oil in your vessel and go; I will send you to Jesse, the Beth-lehemite: for I have got a king for myself among his sons.
16:2
[cbgb] 撒母耳说，我怎能去呢？扫罗若听见，必要杀我。耶和华说，你可以带一只牛犊去，就说，我来是要向耶和华献祭。 < | >
[niv] But Samuel said, "How can I go? Saul will hear about it and kill me." The LORD said, "Take a heifer with you and say, `I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.'
[asv] And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And Jehovah said, Take a heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to Jehovah.
[jnd] And Samuel said, How shall I go? if Saul hear , he will kill me. And Jehovah said, Take a heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to Jehovah.
[kjv] And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.
[nwb] And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul shall hear , he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take a heifer with thee, and say, I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.
[rsv] And Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me." And the LORD said, "Take a heifer with you, and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.'

[ylt] And Samuel saith, `How do I go? when Saul hath heard, then he hath slain me.' And Jehovah saith, `A heifer of the herd thou dost take in thy hand, and hast said, To sacrifice to Jehovah I have come;
[bbe] And Samuel said, How is it possible for me to go? If Saul gets news of it he will put me to death. And the Lord said, Take a young cow with you and say, I have come to make an offering to the Lord.
16:3
[cbgb] 你要请耶西来吃祭肉，我就指示你所当行的事。我所指给你的人，你要膏他。 < | >
[niv] Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate."
[asv] And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.
[jnd] And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will tell thee what thou shalt do; and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.

16:4

[niv] Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, "Do you come in peace?"
[asv] And Samuel did that which Jehovah spake, and came to Beth-lehem. And the elders of the city came to meet him trembling, and said, Comest thou peaceably?
[jnd] And Samuel did what Jehovah said, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came trembling to meet him, and said, Dost thou come peaceably?
[kjv] And Samuel did that which the LORD spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably?
[nwb] And Samuel did that which the LORD spoke, and came to Beth-lehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably?

[bbe] And Samuel did as the Lord said and came to Beth-lehem. And the responsible men of the town came out to him in fear and said, Do you come in peace?
16:5
[cbgb] 他说，为平安来的，我是给耶和华献祭。你们当自洁，来与我同吃祭肉。撒母耳就使耶西和他众子自洁，请他们来吃祭肉。 < | >
[niv] Samuel replied, "Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
[asv] And he said, Peaceably; I am come to sacrifice unto Jehovah: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
[jnd] And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice to Jehovah. Hallow yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he hallowed Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
[kjv] And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
[nwb] And he said, Peaceably: I have come to sacrifice to the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
[rsv] And he said, "Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD; consecrate yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice." And he consecrated Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice.

[bbe] And he said, In peace: I have come to make an offering to the Lord: make yourselves clean and come with me to make the offering. And he made Jesse and his sons clean, and sent for them to be present at the offering.
16:6

[niv] When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD."
[asv] And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely Jehovah's anointed is before him.
[jnd] And it came to pass when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely Jehovah's anointed is before him.
[kjv] And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him.
[nwb] And it came to pass when they had come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD'S anointed before him.
[rsv] When they came, he looked on Eli'ab and thought, "Surely the LORD'S anointed is before him."
[web] It happened, when they had come, that he looked at Eliab, and said, Surely Yahweh's anointed is before him.
[ylt] And it cometh to pass, in their coming in, that he seeth Eliab, and saith, `Surely, before Jehovah His anointed.'
[bbe] Now when they came, looking at Eliab, he said, Clearly the man of the Lord's selection is before him.
16:7
[cbgb] 耶和华却对撒母耳说，不要看他的外貌和他身材高大，我不拣选他。因为，耶和华不像人看人，人是看外貌。耶和华是看内心。 < | >
[niv] But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
[asv] But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for Jehovah seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart.
[jnd] But Jehovah said to Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him; for it is not as man seeth; for man looketh upon the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh upon the heart.
[kjv] But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
[nwb] But the LORD said to Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the hight of his stature; because I have refused him: for not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

[bbe] But the Lord said to Samuel, Do not take note of his face or how tall he is, because I will not have him: for the Lord's view is not man's; man takes note of the outer form, but the Lord sees the heart.

[niv] Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, "The LORD has not chosen this one either."
[asv] Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath Jehovah chosen this.
[jnd] Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither has Jehovah chosen this one.

[niv] Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, "Nor has the LORD chosen this one."
[asv] Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath Jehovah chosen this.
[jnd] Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, Neither has Jehovah chosen this one.
[kjv] Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.

[niv] So he asked Jesse, "Are these all the sons you have?" "There is still the youngest," Jesse answered, "but he is tending the sheep." Samuel said, "Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives."
[asv] And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he is keeping the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him; for we will not sit down till he come hither.
[jnd] And Samuel said to Jesse, Are these all the young men? And he said, There is yet the youngest remaining, and behold, he is feeding the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and fetch him; for we will not sit at table till he come hither.
[kjv] And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
[nwb] And Samuel said to Jesse, Are here all children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and bring him: for we will not sit down till he hath come hither.

[ylt] And Samuel saith unto Jesse, `Are the young men finished?' and he saith, `Yet hath been left the youngest; and lo, he delighteth himself among the flock;' and Samuel saith unto Jesse, `Send and take him, for we do not turn round till his coming in hither.'
[bbe] Then Samuel said to Jesse, Are all your children here? And he said, There is still the youngest, and he is looking after the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and make him come here: for we will not take our seats till he is here.
16:12
[cbgb] 耶西就打发人去叫了他来。他面色光红，双目清秀，容貌俊美。耶和华说，这就是他，你起来膏他。 < | >
[niv] So he sent and had him brought in. He was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, "Rise and anoint him; he is the one."
[asv] And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look upon. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him; for this is he.
[jnd] And he sent and brought him in. And he was ruddy, and besides of a lovely countenance and beautiful appearance. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him; for this is he.
[kjv] And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
[nwb] And he sent, and brought him in. Now he ruddy, also of a beautiful countenance, and a good appearance. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this he.
[rsv] And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and had beautiful eyes, and was handsome. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is he."
[web] He sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful face, and goodly to look on. Yahweh said, Arise, anoint him; for this is he.
[ylt] And he sendeth, and bringeth him in, and he ruddy, with beauty of eyes, and of good appearance; and Jehovah saith, `Rise, anoint him, for this he.'
[bbe] So he sent and made him come in. Now he had red hair and beautiful eyes and pleasing looks. And the Lord said, Come, put the oil on him, for this is he.
16:13
[cbgb] 撒母耳就用角里的膏油，在他诸兄中膏了他。从这日起，耶和华的灵就大大感动大卫。撒母耳起身回拉玛去了。 < | >
[niv] So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah.
[asv] Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

[bbe] Then Samuel took the bottle of oil, and put the oil on him there among his brothers: and from that day the spirit of the Lord came on David with power. So Samuel went back to Ramah.

[niv] Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.
[asv] Now the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him.
[jnd] And the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him.
[kjv] But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

[web] Now the Spirit of Yahweh departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Yahweh troubled him.
[ylt] And the Spirit of Jehovah turned aside from Saul, and a spirit of sadness from Jehovah terrified him;
[bbe] Now the spirit of the Lord had gone from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord was troubling him.
16:15
[cbgb] 扫罗的臣仆对他说，现在有恶魔从　神那里来扰乱你。 < | >
[niv] Saul's attendants said to him, "See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you.
[asv] And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
[jnd] And Saul's servants said to him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubles thee.
[kjv] And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
[nwb] And Saul's servants said to him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.

[web] Saul's servants said to him, See now, an evil spirit from God troubles you.
[ylt] and the servants of Saul say unto him, `Lo, we pray thee, a spirit of sadness God is terrifying thee;
[bbe] And Saul's servants said to him, See now, an evil spirit from God is troubling you.
16:16
[cbgb] 我们的主可以吩咐面前的臣仆，找一个善于弹琴的来，等　神那里来的恶魔临到你身上的时候，使他用手弹琴，你就好了。 < | >
[niv] Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the harp. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes upon you, and you will feel better."
[asv] Let our lord now command thy servants, that are before thee, to seek out a man who is a skilful player on the harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
[jnd] Let our lord now speak; thy servants are before thee: they shall seek out a man, a skilful player on a harp; and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
[kjv] Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
[nwb] Let our lord now command thy servants, before thee, to seek a man a skillful player on a harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he will play with his hand, and thou wilt be well.
[rsv] Let our lord now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is skilful in playing the lyre; and when the evil spirit from God is upon you, he will play it, and you will be well."
[web] Let our lord now command your servants who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp: and it shall happen, when the evil spirit from God is on you, that he shall play with his hand, and you shall be well.
[ylt] let our lord command, we pray thee, thy servants before thee, they seek a skilful man, playing on a harp, and it hath come to pass, in the spirit of sadness God being upon thee, that he hath played with his hand, and well with thee.'
[bbe] Now give orders to your servants who are here before you to go in search of a man who is an expert player on a corded instrument: and it will be that when the evil spirit from God is on you, he will make music for you on his instrument, and you will get well.

[niv] One of the servants answered, "I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the harp. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the LORD is with him."
[asv] Then answered one of the young men, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth-lehemite, that is skilful in playing, and a mighty man of valor, and a man of war, and prudent in speech, and a comely person; and Jehovah is with him.
[jnd] And one of the young men answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skilled in playing, and he is a valiant man and a man of war, and skilled in speech, and of good presence, and Jehovah is with him.
[kjv] Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

[bbe] Then one of the servants in answer said, I have seen a son of Jesse, the Beth-lehemite, who is expert at playing, and a strong man and a man of war; and he is wise in his words, and pleasing in looks, and the Lord is with him.

[bbe] And whenever the evil spirit from God came on Saul, David took his instrument and made music: so new life came to Saul, and he got well, and the evil spirit went away from him.
