[niv] O town full of commotion, O city of tumult and revelry? Your slain were not killed by the sword, nor did they die in battle.
[asv] O thou that art full of shoutings, a tumultuous city, a joyous town; thy slain are not slain with the sword, neither are they dead in battle.
[jnd] Thou that wast full of stir, a town of tumult, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.

[niv] All your leaders have fled together; they have been captured without using the bow. All you who were caught were taken prisoner together, having fled while the enemy was still far away.

[niv] Therefore I said, "Turn away from me; let me weep bitterly. Do not try to console me over the destruction of my people."
[asv] Therefore said I, Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; labor not to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

[niv] The Lord, the LORD Almighty, has a day of tumult and trampling and terror in the Valley of Vision, a day of battering down walls and of crying out to the mountains.
[asv] For it is a day of discomfiture, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.
[jnd] For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; breaking down the wall, and of crying to the mountain:

[niv] Your choicest valleys are full of chariots, and horsemen are posted at the city gates;
[asv] And it came to pass, that thy choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.

[niv] the defenses of Judah are stripped away. And you looked in that day to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest;
[asv] And he took away the covering of Judah; and thou didst look in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.

[niv] You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.
[asv] ye made also a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But ye looked not unto him that had done this, neither had ye respect unto him that purposed it long ago.
[jnd] and ye have made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not had regard unto the maker thereof, neither have ye looked unto him that fashioned it long ago.

[cbgb] 谁知，人倒欢喜快乐，宰牛杀羊，吃肉喝酒，说，我们吃喝吧，因为明天要死了。 < | >
[niv] But see, there is joy and revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine! "Let us eat and drink," you say, "for tomorrow we die!"
[asv] and behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we shall die.

[niv] The LORD Almighty has revealed this in my hearing: "Till your dying day this sin will not be atoned for," says the Lord, the LORD Almighty.
[asv] And Jehovah of hosts revealed himself in mine ears, Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven you till ye die, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

[bbe] The Lord, the Lord of armies, says, Go to this person in authority, this Shebna, who is over the house; who has made himself a resting-place on high, cutting out a place for himself in the rock, and say,

[cbgb] 你在这里作什么呢？有什么人竟在这里凿坟墓，就是在高处为自给凿坟墓，在磐石中为自己凿出安身之所。 < | >
[niv] What are you doing here and who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your resting place in the rock?
[asv] What doest thou here? and whom has thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out here a sepulchre? hewing him out a sepulchre on high, graving a habitation for himself in the rock!
[jnd] What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewn thee out a sepulchre here, he that heweth out his sepulchre on high, cutting out in the rock a habitation for himself?

[rsv] What have you to do here and whom have you here, that you have hewn here a tomb for yourself, you who hew a tomb on the height, and carve a habitation for yourself in the rock?
[web] "What do you here? and whom has you here, that you have hewed you out here a tomb? Cutting him out a tomb on high, chiseling a habitation for himself in the rock!"
[ylt] What -- to thee here? And who -- to thee here? That thou hast hewn out to thee here -- a sepulchre? Hewing on high his sepulchre, Graving in a rock a dwelling for himself.
[bbe] Who are you, and by what right have you made for yourself a resting-place here?

[cbgb] 看哪，耶和华必像大有力的人，将你紧紧缠裹，竭力抛去。 < | >
[niv] "Beware, the LORD is about to take firm hold of you and hurl you away, O you mighty man.
[asv] Behold, Jehovah, like a strong man, will hurl thee away violently; yea, he will wrap thee up closely.
[jnd] Behold, Jehovah will hurl thee with the force of a mighty man, and will cover thee entirely.
[kjv] Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
[nwb] Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
[rsv] Behold, the LORD will hurl you away violently, O you strong man. He will seize firm hold on you,
[web] Behold, Yahweh, like a man, will hurl you away violently; yes, he will wrap you up closely.
[ylt] Lo, Jehovah is casting thee up and down, A casting up and down, O mighty one,
[bbe] See, O strong man, the Lord will send you violently away, gripping you with force,
22:18
[cbgb] 他必将你辊痴一团，抛在宽阔之地，好像抛球一样。你这主人家的羞辱，必在那里坐你荣耀的车，也必在那里死亡。 < | >
[niv] He will roll you up tightly like a ball and throw you into a large country. There you will die and there your splendid chariots will remain-- you disgrace to your master's house!
[asv] He will surely wind thee round and round, and toss thee like a ball into a large country; there shalt thou die, and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, thou shame of thy lord's house.
[jnd] Rolling thee up completely, he will roll thee as a ball into a wide country: there shalt thou die, and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, O shame of thy lord's house!
[kjv] He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.
[nwb] With violence he will surely turn and toss thee a ball into a wide country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory the shame of thy lord's house.
[rsv] and whirl you round and round, and throw you like a ball into a wide land; there you shall die, and there shall be your splendid chariots, you shame of your master's house.

[ylt] And thy coverer covering, wrapping round, Wrappeth thee round, O babbler, On a land broad of sides -- there thou diest, And there the chariots of thine honour the shame of the house of thy lord.
[bbe] Twisting you round and round like a ball he will send you out into a wide country: there you will come to your end, and there will be the carriages of your pride, O shame of your lord's house!

[cbgb] 万军之耶和华说，当那日，钉在坚固处的钉子必压斜，被砍断落地。挂在其上的重担必被剪断。因为这是耶和华说的。 <
[niv] "In that day," declares the LORD Almighty, "the peg driven into the firm place will give way; it will be sheared off and will fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut down." The LORD has spoken.
[asv] In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that was fastened in a sure place give way; and it shall be hewn down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for Jehovah hath spoken it.
