[niv] Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, so the LORD delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.
[asv] And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah; and Jehovah delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

[niv] A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was sterile and remained childless.
[asv] And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.
[jnd] And there was a certain man of Zoreah, of the family of the Danites, and his name was Manoah. And his wife was barren and did not bear.

13:3

[niv] The angel of the LORD appeared to her and said, "You are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son.
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not; but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold now, thou art barren and bearest not; but thou shalt conceive and bear a son.

[ylt] and a messenger of Jehovah appeareth unto the woman, and saith unto her, `Lo, I pray thee, thou barren, and hast not borne; when thou hast conceived, then thou hast borne a son.
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord came to the woman, and said to her, See now! though you have never given birth to children, you will be with child and give birth to a son.
13:4
[cbgb] 所以你当谨慎，清酒浓酒都不可喝，一切不洁之物也不可吃。 < | >
[niv] Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean,
[asv] Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink no wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:
[jnd] And now beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat nothing unclean.

13:5
[cbgb] 你必怀孕生一个儿子，不可用剃头刀剃他的头，因为这孩子一出胎就归　神作拿细耳人。他必起首拯救以色列人脱离非利士人的手。 < | >
[niv] because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines."
[asv] for, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come upon his head; for the child shall be a Nazirite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

[bbe] For you are with child and will give birth to a son; his hair is never to be cut, for the child is to be separate to God from his birth; and he will take up the work of freeing Israel from the hands of the Philistines.
13:6

[niv] Then the woman went to her husband and told him, "A man of God came to me. He looked like an angel of God, very awesome. I didn't ask him where he came from, and he didn't tell me his name.
[asv] Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of the angel of God, very terrible; and I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:
[jnd] And the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God, very terrible; but I did not ask him whence he was, neither did he tell me his name.

[ylt] And the woman cometh and speaketh to her husband, saying, `A man of God hath come unto me, and his appearance as the appearance of a messenger of God, very fearful, and I have not asked him whence he , and his name he hath not declared to me;
[bbe] Then the woman came in, and said to her husband, A man came to me, and his form was like the form of a god, causing great fear; I put no question to him about where he came from, and he did not give me his name;
13:7
[cbgb] 却对我说，你要怀孕生一个儿子，所以清酒浓酒都不可喝，一切不洁之物也不可吃。因为这孩子从出胎一直到死，必归　神作拿细耳人。 < | >
[niv] But he said to me, `You will conceive and give birth to a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite of God from birth until the day of his death.'"

[bbe] But he said to me, You are with child and will give birth to a son; and now do not take any wine or strong drink or let anything unclean be your food; for the child will be separate to God from his birth to the day of his death.
13:8
[cbgb] 玛挪亚就祈求耶和华说，主阿，求你再差遣那　神人到我们这里来，好指教我们怎样待这将要生的孩子。 < | >
[niv] Then Manoah prayed to the LORD: "O Lord, I beg you, let the man of God you sent to us come again to teach us how to bring up the boy who is to be born."
[asv] Then Manoah entreated Jehovah, and said, Oh, Lord, I pray thee, let the man of God whom thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
[jnd] Then Manoah prayed to Jehovah, and said, Ah Lord! let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, I pray thee, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
[kjv] Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
[nwb] Then Manoah entreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God, whom thou didst send come again to us, and teach us what we shall do to the child that shall be born.
[rsv] Then Mano'ah entreated the LORD, and said, "O, LORD, I pray thee, let the man of God whom thou didst send come again to us, and teach us what we are to do with the boy that will be born."
[web] Then Manoah entreated Yahweh, and said, Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you did send come again to us, and teach us what we shall do to the child who shall be born.
[ylt] And Manoah maketh entreaty unto Jehovah, and saith, `O, my Lord, the man of God whom Thou didst send, let him come in, I pray thee, again unto us, and direct us what we do to the youth who is born.'
[bbe] Then Manoah made prayer to the Lord, and said, O Lord, let the man of God whom you sent come to us again and make clear to us what we are to do for the child who is to come.
13:9
[cbgb] 　神应允玛挪亚的话。妇人正坐在田间的时候，　神的使者又到她那里，她丈夫玛挪亚却没有同她在一处。 < | >
[niv] God heard Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman while she was out in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
[asv] And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her.
[jnd] And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the Angel of God came again to the woman whilst she sat in the field; but Manoah her husband was not with her.

[ylt] And God hearkeneth to the voice of Manoah, and the messenger of God cometh again unto the woman, and she sitting in a field, and Manoah her husband is not with her,
[bbe] And God gave ear to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came to the woman again when she was seated in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
13:10
[cbgb] 妇人急忙跑去告诉丈夫说，那日到我面前来的人，又向我显现。 < | >
[niv] The woman hurried to tell her husband, "He's here! The man who appeared to me the other day!"
[asv] And the woman made haste, and ran, and told her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.
[jnd] Then the woman hasted and ran, and informed her husband, and said to him, Behold, the man has appeared to me, that came to me that day.
[kjv] And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.
[nwb] And the woman made haste, and ran, and showed her husband, and said to him, Behold, the man hath appeared to me, that came to me the day.
[rsv] And the woman ran in haste and told her husband, "Behold, the man who came to me the other day has appeared to me."
[web] The woman made haste, and ran, and told her husband, and said to him, Behold, the man has appeared to me, who came to me the day.
[ylt] and the woman hasteth, and runneth, and declareth to her husband, and saith unto him, `Lo, he hath appeared unto me -- the man who came on day unto me.'
[bbe] So the woman, running quickly, gave her husband the news, saying, I have seen the man who came to me the other day.
13:11

[niv] Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he said, "Are you the one who talked to my wife?" "I am," he said.
[asv] And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.
[jnd] And Manoah rose up and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, Art thou the man that didst speak to the woman? And he said, I am.
[kjv] And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.
[nwb] And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, thou the man that didst speak to the woman? And he said, I .
[rsv] And Mano'ah arose and went after his wife, and came to the man and said to him, "Are you the man who spoke to this woman?" And he said, "I am."
[web] Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, Are you the man who spoke to the woman? He said, I am.
[ylt] And Manoah riseth, and goeth after his wife, and cometh unto the man, and saith to him, `Art thou the man who spake unto the woman?' and he saith, `I .'
[bbe] And Manoah got up and went after his wife, and came up to the man and said to him, Are you the man who was talking to this woman? And he said, I am.
13:12
[cbgb] 玛挪亚说，愿你的话应验。我们当怎样待这孩子，他后来当怎样呢？ < | >
[niv] So Manoah asked him, "When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule for the boy's life and work?"
[asv] And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass: what shall be the ordering of the child, and how shall we do unto him?
[jnd] And Manoah said, When thy words then come to pass, what shall be the child's manner and his doing?
[kjv] And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?
[nwb] And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and shall we do to him?
[rsv] And Mano'ah said, "Now when your words come true, what is to be the boy's manner of life, and what is he to do?"
[web] Manoah said, Now let your words happen: what shall be the ordering of the child, and shall we do to him?
[ylt] And Manoah saith, `Now let thy words come to pass; what is the custom of the youth -- and his work?'
[bbe] And Manoah said, Now when your words come true, what is to be the rule for the child and what will be his work?

[niv] The angel of the LORD answered, "Your wife must do all that I have told her.
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware:
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.
[nwb] And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Of all that I said to the woman, let her beware.
[rsv] And the angel of the LORD said to Mano'ah, "Of all that I said to the woman let her beware.
[web] The angel of Yahweh said to Manoah, Of all that I said to the woman let her beware.
[ylt] And the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, `Of all that I said unto the woman let her take heed;
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, Let the woman take note of what I have said to her.
13:14
[cbgb] 葡萄树所结的都不可吃，清酒浓酒都不可喝，一切不洁之物也不可吃。凡我所吩咐的，她都当遵守。 < | >
[niv] She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, nor drink any wine or other fermented drink nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her."
[asv] She may not eat of anything that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing; all that I commanded her let her observe.
[jnd] she shall not eat of anything that cometh of the vine, neither shall she drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean: all that I commanded her shall she observe.

[bbe] She is to have nothing which comes from the vine for her food, and let her take no wine or strong drink or anything which is unclean; let her take care to do all I have given her orders to do.
13:15

[niv] Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, "We would like you to stay until we prepare a young goat for you."
[asv] And Manoah said unto the angel of Jehovah, I pray thee, let us detain thee, that we may make ready a kid for thee.
[jnd] And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, I pray thee, let us detain thee, and we will make ready a kid of the goats for thee.
[kjv] And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
[nwb] And Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
[rsv] Mano'ah said to the angel of the LORD, "Pray, let us detain you, and prepare a kid for you."
[web] Manoah said to the angel of Yahweh, I pray you, let us detain you, that we may make ready a kid for you.
[ylt] And Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, `Let us detain thee, we pray thee, and prepare before thee a kid of the goats.'
[bbe] And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, Now let us keep you while we make ready a young goat for you.
13:16
[cbgb] 耶和华的使者对玛挪亚说，你虽然款留我，我却不吃你的食物，你若预备燔祭就当献与耶和华。原来玛挪亚不知道他是耶和华的使者。 < | >
[niv] The angel of the LORD replied, "Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the LORD." (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the LORD.)
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread; and if thou wilt make ready a burnt-offering, thou must offer it unto Jehovah. For Manoah knew not that he was the angel of Jehovah.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Though thou shouldest detain me, I will not eat of thy bread; and if thou wilt offer a burnt-offering, thou shalt offer it up to Jehovah. For Manoah knew not that he was the Angel of Jehovah.
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.
[nwb] And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Though thou shouldst detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt-offering, thou must offer it to the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he an angel of the LORD.
[rsv] And the angel of the LORD said to Mano'ah, "If you detain me, I will not eat of your food; but if you make ready a burnt offering, then offer it to the LORD." (For Mano'ah did not know that he was the angel of the LORD.)
[web] The angel of Yahweh said to Manoah, Though you detain me, I won't eat of your bread; and if you will make ready a burnt offering, you must offer it to Yahweh. For Manoah didn't know that he was the angel of Yahweh.
[ylt] And the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, `If thou detain me -- I do not eat of thy bread; and if thou prepare a burnt-offering -- to Jehovah thou dost offer it;' for Manoah hath not known that He a messenger of Jehovah.
[bbe] And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, Though you keep me I will not take of your food; but if you will make a burned offering, let it be offered to the Lord. For it had not come into Manoah's mind that he was the angel of the Lord.
13:17
[cbgb] 玛挪亚对耶和华的使者说，请将你的名告诉我，到你话应验的时候，我们好尊敬你。 < | >
[niv] Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the LORD, "What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?"
[asv] And Manoah said unto the angel of Jehovah, What is thy name, that, when thy words come to pass, we may do thee honor?
[jnd] And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, What is thy name, that when thy word cometh to pass we may do thee honour?
[kjv] And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?
[nwb] And Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, What thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass, we may do thee honor?
[rsv] And Mano'ah said to the angel of the LORD, "What is your name, so that, when your words come true, we may honor you?"
[web] Manoah said to the angel of Yahweh, What is your name, that when your words happen, we may honor you?
[ylt] And Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, `What thy name? when thy words come to pass, then we have honoured thee.'
[bbe] Then Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, What is your name, so that when your words come true we may give you honour?
13:18

[niv] He replied, "Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding. "
[asv] And the angel of Jehovah said unto him, Wherefore askest thou after my name, seeing it is wonderful?
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, How is it that thou askest after my name, seeing it is wonderful?
[kjv] And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?
[nwb] And the angel of the LORD said to him, why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it secret?
[rsv] And the angel of the LORD said to him, "Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?"
[web] The angel of Yahweh said to him, Why ask you after my name, seeing it is wonderful?
[ylt] And the messenger of Jehovah saith to him, `Why this -- thou dost ask for My name? -- and it Wonderful.'
[bbe] But the angel of the Lord said to him, Why are you questioning me about my name, seeing that it is a wonder?
13:19
[cbgb] 玛挪亚将一只山羊羔和素祭在磐石上献与耶和华，使者行奇妙的事。玛挪亚和他的妻观看， < | >
[niv] Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the LORD. And the LORD did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched:
[asv] So Manoah took the kid with the meal-offering, and offered it upon the rock unto Jehovah: and the angel did wondrously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.
[jnd] Then Manoah took the kid and the oblation, and offered it up to Jehovah upon the rock. And he did wondrously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.
[kjv] So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
[nwb] So Manoah took a kid, with a meat-offering, and offered upon a rock to the LORD; and did wonderously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.
[rsv] So Mano'ah took the kid with the cereal offering, and offered it upon the rock to the LORD, to him who works wonders.
[web] So Manoah took the kid with the meal-offering, and offered it on the rock to Yahweh: and did wondrously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.
[ylt] And Manoah taketh the kid of the goats, and the present, and offereth on the rock to Jehovah, and He is doing wonderfully, and Manoah and his wife are looking on,
[bbe] So Manoah took the young goat with its meal offering, offering it on the rock to the Lord, who did strange things.
13:20
[cbgb] 见火焰从坛上往上升，耶和华的使者在坛上的火焰中也升上去了。玛挪亚和他的妻看见，就俯伏于地。 < | >
[niv] As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.
[asv] For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of Jehovah ascended in the flame of the altar: and Manoah and his wife looked on; and they fell on their faces to the ground.
[jnd] And it came to pass, as the flame went up from off the altar towards the heavens, that the Angel of Jehovah ascended in the flame of the altar; and Manoah and his wife looked on, and fell on their faces to the ground.
[kjv] For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
[nwb] For it came to pass, when the flame ascended towards heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on , and fell on their faces to the ground.
[rsv] And when the flame went up toward heaven from the altar, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar while Mano'ah and his wife looked on; and they fell on their faces to the ground.
[web] For it happened, when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, that the angel of Yahweh ascended in the flame of the altar: and Manoah and his wife looked on; and they fell on their faces to the ground.
[ylt] and it cometh to pass, in the going up of the flame from off the altar toward the heavens, that the messenger of Jehovah goeth up in the flame of the altar, and Manoah and his wife are looking on, and they fall on their faces to the earth,
[bbe] And when the flame went up to heaven from the altar, the angel of the Lord went up in the flame of the altar, while Manoah and his wife were looking on; and they went down on their faces to the earth.
13:21
[cbgb] 耶和华的使者不再向玛挪亚和他的妻显现，玛挪亚才知道他是耶和华的使者。 < | >
[niv] When the angel of the LORD did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the LORD.
[asv] But the angel of Jehovah did no more appear to Manoah or to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of Jehovah.
[jnd] And the Angel of Jehovah appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that it was the Angel of Jehovah.
[kjv] But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.
[nwb] But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he an angel of the LORD.
[rsv] The angel of the LORD appeared no more to Mano'ah and to his wife. Then Mano'ah knew that he was the angel of the LORD.
[web] But the angel of Yahweh did no more appear to Manoah or to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of Yahweh.
[ylt] and the messenger of Jehovah hath not added again to appear unto Manoah, and unto his wife, then hath Manoah known that He a messenger of Jehovah.
[bbe] But the angel of the Lord was seen no more by Manoah and his wife. Then it was clear to Manoah that he was the angel of the Lord.
13:22

[niv] "We are doomed to die!" he said to his wife. "We have seen God!"
[asv] And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

[ylt] And Manoah saith unto his wife, `We certainly die, for we have seen God.'
[bbe] And Manoah said to his wife, Death will certainly be our fate, for it is a god whom we have seen.
13:23
[cbgb] 他的妻却对他说，耶和华若要杀我们，必不从我们手里收纳燔祭和素祭，并不将这一切事指示我们，今日也不将这些话告诉我们。 < | >
[niv] But his wife answered, "If the LORD had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things or now told us this."
[asv] But his wife said unto him, If Jehovah were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and a meal-offering at our hand, neither would he have showed us all these things, nor would at this time have told such things as these.
[jnd] But his wife said to him, If Jehovah were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and an oblation at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would he at this time have told us as these.
[kjv] But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.
[nwb] But his wife said to him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and a meat-offering at our hands, neither would he have showed us all these , nor would, as at this time, have told us as these.
[rsv] But his wife said to him, "If the LORD had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and a cereal offering at our hands, or shown us all these things, or now announced to us such things as these."
[web] But his wife said to him, If Yahweh were pleased to kill us, he wouldn't have received a burnt offering and a meal-offering at our hand, neither would he have showed us all these things, nor would at this time have told such things as these.
[ylt] And his wife saith to him, `If Jehovah were desirous to put us to death, He had not received from our hands burnt-offering and present, nor shewed us all these things, nor as time caused us to hear like this.'
[bbe] But his wife said to him, If the Lord was purposing our death, he would not have taken our burned offering and our meal offering, or have given us such orders about the child.
13:24

[niv] The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him,
[asv] And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and Jehovah blessed him.

13:25

[niv] and the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
[asv] And the Spirit of Jehovah began to move him in Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
[jnd] And the Spirit of Jehovah began to move him at Mahaneh-Dan, between Zoreah and Eshtaol.
[kjv] And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

[ylt] and the Spirit of Jehovah beginneth to move him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
[bbe] And the spirit of the Lord first came on him in Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
