14:2

[niv] "Judah mourns, her cities languish; they wail for the land, and a cry goes up from Jerusalem.
[asv] Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish, they sit in black upon the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

[niv] The nobles send their servants for water; they go to the cisterns but find no water. They return with their jars unfilled; dismayed and despairing, they cover their heads.

[niv] The ground is cracked because there is no rain in the land; the farmers are dismayed and cover their heads.
[asv] Because of the ground which is cracked, for that no rain hath been in the land, the plowmen are put to shame, they cover their heads.
[jnd] Because the ground is chapt, for there hath been no rain on the earth, the ploughmen are ashamed, they cover their heads.

[niv] Even the doe in the field deserts her newborn fawn because there is no grass.
[asv] Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh her young, because there is no grass.

[niv] Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights and pant like jackals; their eyesight fails for lack of pasture."
[asv] And the wild asses stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.

[niv] Although our sins testify against us, O LORD, do something for the sake of your name. For our backsliding is great; we have sinned against you.
[asv] Though our iniquities testify against us, work thou for thy name's sake, O Jehovah; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

[niv] O Hope of Israel, its Savior in times of distress, why are you like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who stays only a night?
[asv] O thou hope of Israel, the Saviour thereof in the time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a sojourner in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
[jnd] Thou hope of Israel, its Saviour in the time of trouble, why wilt thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a traveller that turneth aside to stay a night?

[cbgb] 你为何像受惊的人，像不能救人的勇士呢？耶和华阿，你仍在我们中间。我们也称为你名下的人，求你不要离开我们。 < | >
[niv] Why are you like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? You are among us, O LORD, and we bear your name; do not forsake us!
[asv] Why shouldest thou be as a man affrighted, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O Jehovah, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
[jnd] Why wilt thou be as a man astonished, as a mighty man that cannot save? Yet thou, Jehovah, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name: leave us not.

[ylt] Why art Thou as one dumb? As a mighty one not able to save? And Thou in our midst, O Jehovah, And Thy name over us is called, leave us not.
[bbe] Why are you like a man surprised, like a man of war who is not able to give help? but you, O Lord, are with us, and we are named by your name; do not go away from us.
14:10
[cbgb] 耶和华对这百姓如此说，这百姓喜爱妄行（原文作飘流），不禁止脚步，所以耶和华不悦纳他们。现今要记念他们的罪孽，追讨他们的罪恶。 < | >
[niv] This is what the LORD says about this people: "They greatly love to wander; they do not restrain their feet. So the LORD does not accept them; he will now remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins."
[asv] Thus saith Jehovah unto this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah doth not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
[jnd] Thus saith Jehovah to this people: Even so have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet; and Jehovah hath no delight in them: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.

[bbe] This is what the Lord has said about this people: Even so they have been glad to go from the right way; they have not kept their feet from wandering, so the Lord has no pleasure in them; now he will keep their wrongdoing in mind and send punishment for their sins.
14:11

[niv] Then the LORD said to me, "Do not pray for the well-being of this people.
[asv] And Jehovah said unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.

[nwb] Then said the LORD to me, Pray not for this people for good.
[rsv] The LORD said to me: "Do not pray for the welfare of this people.

[bbe] And the Lord said to me, Make no prayer for this people for their good.
14:12
[cbgb] 他们禁食的时候，我不听他们的呼求。他们献燔祭和素祭，我也不悦纳。我却要用刀剑，饥荒，瘟疫灭绝他们。 < | >
[niv] Although they fast, I will not listen to their cry; though they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will destroy them with the sword, famine and plague."
[asv] When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt-offering and meal-offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
[jnd] When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer up burnt-offering and oblation, I will not accept them: for I will consume them by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence.

[bbe] When they go without food, I will not give ear to their cry; when they give burned offerings and meal offerings, I will not take pleasure in them: but I will put an end to them by the sword and by need of food and by disease.

[niv] But I said, "Ah, Sovereign LORD, the prophets keep telling them, `You will not see the sword or suffer famine. Indeed, I will give you lasting peace in this place.'"
[asv] Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
[jnd] And I said, Alas, Lord Jehovah! Behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; for I will give you assured peace in this place.
[kjv] Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
[nwb] Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say to them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.

[ylt] And I say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah, Lo, the prophets are saying to them: Ye do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.'
[bbe] Then I said, Ah, Lord God! see, the prophets say to them, You will not see the sword or be short of food; but I will give you certain peace in this place.

[cbgb] 耶和华对我说，那些先知托我的名说假预言，我并没有打发他们，没有吩咐他们，也没有对他们说话。他们向你们预言的，乃是虚假的异象和占卜，并虚无的事，以及本心的诡诈。 < | >
[niv] Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.
[asv] Then Jehovah said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake I unto them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their own heart.
[jnd] And Jehovah said unto me, The prophets prophesy falsehood in my name; I have not sent them, neither have I commanded them, nor spoken unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision, and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
[kjv] Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

[rsv] And the LORD said to me: "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name; I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds.
[web] Then Yahweh said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I didn't send them, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke I to them: they prophesy to you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.
[ylt] And Jehovah saith unto me: Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them: A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you.
[bbe] Then the Lord said to me, The prophets say false words in my name, and I gave them no orders, and I said nothing to them: what they say to you is a false vision and wonder-working words without substance, the deceit of their hearts.
14:15
[cbgb] 所以耶和华如此说，论到托我名说预言的那些先知，我并没有打发他们。他们还说这地不能有刀剑饥荒，其实那些先知必被刀剑饥荒灭绝。 < | >
[niv] Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the prophets who are prophesying in my name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, `No sword or famine will touch this land.' Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine.
[asv] Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
[jnd] Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, and who say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and by famine shall those prophets be consumed;

[ylt] Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land: By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed.
[bbe] So this is what the Lord has said about the prophets who make use of my name, though I sent them not, and say, The sword and need of food will not be in this land: the sword and need of food will put an end to those prophets.

[niv] And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them or their wives, their sons or their daughters. I will pour out on them the calamity they deserve.
[asv] And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them-them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.

[bbe] And the people to whom they are prophets will be pushed out dead into the streets of Jerusalem, because there is no food, and because of the sword; and they will have no one to put their bodies into the earth, them or their wives or their sons or their daughters: for I will let loose their evil-doing on them.

[niv] "Speak this word to them: "`Let my eyes overflow with tears night and day without ceasing; for my virgin daughter--my people-- has suffered a grievous wound, a crushing blow.
[asv] And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.

[bbe] And you are to say this word to them, Let my eyes be streaming with water night and day, and let it not be stopped; for the virgin daughter of my people is wounded with a great wound, with a very bitter blow.
