2:2
[cbgb] 耶和华问撒但说，你从那里来。撒但回答说，我从地上走来走去，往返而来。 < | >
[niv] And the LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."
[asv] And Jehovah said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered Jehovah, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

[ylt] And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, `Whence camest thou?' And the Adversary answereth Jehovah and saith, `From going to and fro in the land, and from walking up and down in it.'
[bbe] And the Lord said to the Satan, Where do you come from? And the Satan said in answer, From wandering this way and that on the earth, and walking about on it.
2:3
[cbgb] 耶和华问撒但说，你曾用心察看我的仆人约伯没有。地上再没有人像他完全正直，敬畏　神，远离恶事。你虽激动我攻击他，无故地毁灭他，他仍然持守他的纯正。 < | >
[niv] Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason."
[asv] And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil: and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
[jnd] And Jehovah said to Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God and abstaineth from evil? and still he remaineth firm in his integrity, though thou movedst me against him, to swallow him up without cause.
[kjv] And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
[nwb] And the LORD said to Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that none like him on the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and shunneth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
[rsv] And the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause."
[web] . Yahweh said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. He still maintains his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause."
[ylt] And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, `Hast thou set thy heart unto My servant Job because there is none like him in the land, a man perfect and upright, fearing God and turning aside from evil? and still he is keeping hold on his integrity, and thou dost move Me against him to swallow him up for nought!'
[bbe] And the Lord said to the Satan, Have you taken note of my servant Job, for there is no one like him on the earth, a man without sin and upright, fearing God and keeping himself far from evil? and he still keeps his righteousness, though you have been moving me to send destruction on him without cause.
2:4
[cbgb] 撒但回答耶和华说，人以皮代皮，情愿舍去一切所有的，保全性命。 < | >
[niv] "Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man will give all he has for his own life.
[asv] And Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
[jnd] And Satan answered Jehovah and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life;
[kjv] And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
[nwb] And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, even, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
[rsv] Then Satan answered the LORD, "Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life.
[web] . Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has will he give for his life.
[ylt] And the Adversary answereth Jehovah and saith, `A skin for a skin, and all that a man hath he doth give for his life.
[bbe] And the Satan said in answer to the Lord, Skin for skin, all a man has he will give for his life.
2:5
[cbgb] 你且伸手伤他的骨头和他的肉，他必当面弃掉你。 < | >
[niv] But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face."
[asv] But put forth thy hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce thee to thy face.

[bbe] But now, if you only put your hand on his bone and his flesh, he will certainly be cursing you to your face.
2:6

[niv] The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life."
[asv] And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life.

[kjv] And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

[bbe] And the Lord said to the Satan, See, he is in your hands, only do not take his life.
2:7
[cbgb] 于是撒但从耶和华面前退去，击打约伯，使他从脚掌到头顶长毒疮。 < | >
[niv] So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
[asv] So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
[jnd] And Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah; and he smote Job with a grievous botch from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

[bbe] And the Satan went out from before the Lord, and sent on Job an evil disease covering his skin from his feet to the top of his head.
2:8

[niv] Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
[asv] And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself therewith; and he sat among the ashes.

2:9
[cbgb] 他的妻子对他说，你仍然持守你的纯正麽？你弃掉　神，死了吧。 < | >
[niv] His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"
[asv] Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still hold fast thine integrity? renounce God, and die.
[jnd] And his wife said to him, Dost thou still remain firm in thine integrity? curse God and die.
[kjv] Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
[nwb] Then said his wife to him, Dost thou still retain thy integrity? curse God, and die.
[rsv] Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God, and die."
[web] Then his wife said to him, "Do you still maintain your integrity? Renounce God, and die."
[ylt] And his wife saith to him, `Still thou art keeping hold on thine integrity: bless God and die.'
[bbe] And his wife said to him, Are you still keeping your righteousness? Say a curse against God, and put an end to yourself.
2:10
[cbgb] 约伯却对她说，你说话像愚顽的妇人一样。嗳，难道我们从　神手里得福，不也受祸麽？在这一切的事上约伯并不以口犯罪。 < | >
[niv] He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
[asv] But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
[jnd] But he said to her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. We have also received good from God, and should we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
[kjv] But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

[ylt] And he saith unto her, `As one of the foolish women speaketh, thou speakest; yea, the good we receive from God, and the evil we do not receive.' In all this Job hath not sinned with his lips.
[bbe] And he said to her, You are talking like one of the foolish women. If we take the good God sends us, are we not to take the evil when it comes? In all this Job kept his lips from sin.
2:11

[niv] When Job's three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.
[asv] Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, and they made an appointment together to come to bemoan him and to comfort him.
[jnd] And three friends of Job heard of all this evil that was come upon him. And they came each one from his place: Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to condole with him and to comfort him.

[niv] When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads.
[asv] And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his robe, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.
