[niv] It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

[niv] Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

[niv] Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you."
[asv] Jesus saith to him, He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

[niv] For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

[niv] When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them.

[asv] I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled: He that eateth my bread lifted up his heel against me.

[niv] "I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.

[niv] Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means."
[asv] Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, and saith unto him, Tell us who it is of whom he speaketh.

[niv] Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.
[asv] Jesus therefore answereth, He it is, for whom I shall dip the sop, and give it him. So when he had dipped the sop, he taketh and giveth it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
