20:2
[cbgb] 你吩咐以色列人说,你们要照着我藉摩西所晓谕你们的,为自己设立逃城, < | >
[niv] "Tell the Israelites to designate the cities of refuge, as I instructed you through Moses,
[asv] Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Assign you the cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by Moses,
[jnd] Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint for yourselves the cities of refuge, whereof I spoke unto you through Moses,
[kjv] Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses:
[nwb] Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint for you cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you by the hand of Moses:
[rsv] "Say to the people of Israel, 'Appoint the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through Moses,

[bbe] Say to the children of Israel, Let certain towns be marked out as safe places, as I said to you by the mouth of Moses,
20:3
[cbgb] 使那无心而误杀人的,可以逃到那里。这些城可以作你们逃避报血仇人的地方。 < | >
[niv] so that anyone who kills a person accidentally and unintentionally may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood.
[asv] that the manslayer that killeth any person unwittingly and unawares may flee thither: and they shall be unto you for a refuge from the avenger of blood.
[jnd] that the slayer who unwittingly without intent smiteth any one mortally may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
[kjv] That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
[nwb] That the slayer that killeth person unawares ignorantly, may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
[rsv] that the manslayer who kills any person without intent or unwittingly may flee there; they shall be for you a refuge from the avenger of blood.
[web] that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly unawares may flee there: and they shall be to you for a refuge from the avenger of blood.
[ylt] for the fleeing thither of a man-slayer smiting life inadvertently, without knowledge; and they have been to you for a refuge from the redeemer of blood.
[bbe] So that any man who in error and without design has taken the life of another, may go in flight to them: and they will be safe places for you from him who has the right of punishment for blood.
20:4
[cbgb] 那杀人的要逃到这些城中的一座城,站在城门口,将他的事情说给城内的长老们听。他们就把他收进城里,给他地方,使他住在他们中间。 < | >
[niv] "When he flees to one of these cities, he is to stand in the entrance of the city gate and state his case before the elders of that city. Then they are to admit him into their city and give him a place to live with them.
[asv] And he shall flee unto one of those cities, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city; and they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.

[bbe] And if anyone goes in flight to one of those towns, and comes into the public place of the town, and puts his cause before the responsible men of the town, they will take him into the town and give him a place among them where he may be safe.
20:5
[cbgb] 若是报血仇的追了他来,长老不可将他交在报血仇的手里。因为他是素无仇恨,无心杀了人的。 < | >
[niv] If the avenger of blood pursues him, they must not surrender the one accused, because he killed his neighbor unintentionally and without malice aforethought.
[asv] And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver up the manslayer into his hand; because he smote his neighbor unawares, and hated him not beforetime.
[jnd] And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; for he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not previously.
[kjv] And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.
[nwb] And if the avenger of blood shall pursue him, then they shall not deliver the slayer into his hand; because he smote his neighbor ignorantly, and had not hated him before.
[rsv] And if the avenger of blood pursues him, they shall not give up the slayer into his hand; because he killed his neighbor unwittingly, having had no enmity against him in times past.
[web] If the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver up the manslayer into his hand; because he struck his neighbor unawares, and didn't hate him before.
[ylt] `And when the redeemer of blood doth pursue after him, then they do not shut up the man-slayer into his hand, for without knowledge he hath smitten his neighbour, and is not hating him hitherto;
[bbe] And if the one who has the right of punishment comes after him, they are not to give the taker of life up to him; because he was the cause of his neighbour's death without designing it and not in hate.
20:6
[cbgb] 他要住在那城里,站在会众面前听审判,等到那时的大祭司死了,杀人的才可以回到本城本家,就是他所逃出来的那城。 < | >
[niv] He is to stay in that city until he has stood trial before the assembly and until the death of the high priest who is serving at that time. Then he may go back to his own home in the town from which he fled."
[asv] And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the manslayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.
[jnd] And he shall dwell in that city, until he have stood before the assembly in judgment, until the death of the high-priest that shall be in those days; then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.

[bbe] And he is to go on living in that town till he has to come before the meeting of the people to be judged; (till the death of him who is high priest at that time:) then the taker of life may come back to his town and to his house, to the town from which he had gone in flight.
20:7

[niv] So they set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.

20:8

[niv] On the east side of the Jordan of Jericho they designated Bezer in the desert on the plateau in the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead in the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan in the tribe of Manasseh.
[asv] And beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.

[cbgb] 这都是为以色列众人和在他们中间寄居的外人所分定的地邑,使误杀人的都可以逃到那里,不死在报血仇人的手中,等他站在会众面前听审判。 <
[niv] Any of the Israelites or any alien living among them who killed someone accidentally could flee to these designated cities and not be killed by the avenger of blood prior to standing trial before the assembly.
[asv] These were the appointed cities for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person unwittingly might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.

[bbe] These were the towns marked out for all the children of Israel and for the man from a strange country living among them, so that anyone causing the death of another in error, might go in flight there, and not be put to death by him who has the right of punishment for blood till he had come before the meeting of the people.
