[niv]	Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him.
[asv]	Now after two days was the feast of the passover and the unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him with subtlety, and kill him:

[niv]	While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.
[asv]	And while he was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster cruse of ointment of pure nard very costly; and she brake the cruse, and poured it over his head.
[jnd]	And when he was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he lay at table, there came a woman having an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly; and having broken the alabaster flask, she poured it out upon his head.

[niv]	Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume?
[asv]	But there were some that had indignation among themselves, saying, To what purpose hath this waste of the ointment been made?
[jnd]	And there were some indignant in themselves, and saying, Why has this waste been made of the ointment?
[kjv]	And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

[rsv]	But there were some who said to themselves indignantly, "Why was the ointment thus wasted?

[ylt]	and there were certain much displeased within themselves, and saying, `For what hath this waste of the ointment been made?
[bbe]	But some of them were angry among themselves, saying, For what purpose has this oil been wasted?

[cbgb]	这香膏可以卖三十多两银子周济穷人。他们就向那女人生气。 < \| >
[niv]	It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly.
[asv]	For this ointment might have been sold for above three hundred shillings, and given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
[jnd]	for this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor. And they spoke very angrily at her.
[kjv]	For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

[niv]	"Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.

[niv]	The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.
[asv]	For ye have the poor always with you, and whensoever ye will ye can do them good: but me ye have not always.

[niv]	She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.
[asv]	She hath done what she could; she hath anointed my body beforehand for the burying.

[niv]	I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."
[asv]	And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
[jnd]	And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, what this has done shall be also spoken of for a memorial of her.

[niv]	They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
[asv]	And they, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently deliver him unto them.

[niv]	On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus' disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"
[asv]	And on the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the passover, his disciples say unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and make ready that thou mayest eat the passover?
[jnd]	And the first day of unleavened bread, when they slew the passover, his disciples say to him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?

[asv]	and wheresoever he shall enter in, say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith, Where is my guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

[niv]	The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."
[asv]	For the Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born.
[jnd]	The Son of man goes indeed as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; good for that man if he had not been born.
