[niv] saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were "unclean," that is, unwashed.
[asv] and had seen that some of his disciples ate their bread with defiled, that is, unwashen, hands.

[kjv] And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.

[niv] (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders.
[asv] (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands diligently, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders;
[jnd] (for the Pharisees and all the Jews, unless they wash their hands diligently, do not eat, holding what has been delivered by the ancients;
[kjv] For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
[nwb] For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash hands often eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

[niv] When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles. )
[asv] and when they come from the market-place, except they bathe themselves, they eat not; and many other things there are, which they have received to hold, washings of cups, and pots, and brasen vessels.)

[niv] So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with `unclean' hands?"
[asv] And the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with defiled hands?
[jnd] then the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why do thy disciples not walk according to what has been delivered by the ancients, but eat the bread with defiled hands?
[kjv] Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
[nwb] Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?

[niv] He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: "`These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
[asv] And he said unto them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,  This people honoreth me with their lips,  But their heart is far from me.  
[jnd] But he answering said to them, Well did Esaias prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honour me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me.
[kjv] He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7:7
[cbgb] 他们将人的吩咐,当作道理教导人,所以拜我也是枉然。 < | >
[niv] They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'
[asv] But in vain do they worship me,  Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men.
[jnd] But in vain do they worship me, teaching teachings commandments of men.
[kjv] Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
[nwb] But, in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines the commandments of men.

7:8
[cbgb] 你们是离弃 神的诫命,拘守人的遗传。 < | >
[niv] You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."
[asv] Ye leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.
[jnd] , leaving the commandment of God, ye hold what is delivered by men -- washings of vessels and cups, and many other such like things ye do.
[kjv] For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
[nwb] For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

[cbgb] 又说,你们诚然是废弃 神的诫命,要守自己的遗传。 < | >
[niv] And he said to them: "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
[asv] And he said unto them, Full well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your tradition.
[jnd] And he said to them, Well do ye set aside the commandment of God, that ye may observe what is delivered by yourselves .
[kjv] And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
[nwb] And he said to them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition,
[rsv] And he said to them, "You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God, in order to keep your tradition!
[web] He said to them, "Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

[bbe] And he said to them, Truly you put on one side the law of God, so that you may keep the rules which have been handed down to you.

[niv] For Moses said, `Honor your father and your mother,' and, `Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'
[asv] For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death:
[jnd] For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, he who speaks ill of father or mother, let him surely die.
[kjv] For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

[niv] But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: `Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban' (that is, a gift devoted to God),
[asv] but ye say, If a man shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is Corban, that is to say, Given to God;
[jnd] But *ye* say, If a man say to his father or his mother, corban (that is, gift), whatsoever thou mightest have profit from me by ...
[kjv] But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
[nwb] But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me; .
[rsv] but you say, 'If a man tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is Corban' (that is, given to God) --
[web] But you say, 'If a man will tell his father or his mother, "Whatever you might have been profited by me is Corban, that is to say, given to God;"'
[ylt] and ye say, If a man may say to father or to mother, Korban (that is, a gift), whatever thou mayest be profited out of mine,
[bbe] But you say, If a man says to his father or his mother, That by which you might have had profit from me is Corban, that is to say, Given to God,
7:12
[cbgb] 以后你们就不容他再奉养父母。 < | >
[niv] then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother.
[asv] ye no longer suffer him to do aught for his father or his mother;
[jnd] And ye no longer suffer him to do anything for his father or his mother;
[kjv] And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
[nwb] And ye suffer him no more to do aught for his father or his mother;
[rsv] then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,

[niv] Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that."

7:14

[niv] Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this.
[asv] And he called to him the multitude again, and said unto them, Hear me all of you, and understand:

[kjv] And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
[nwb] And when he had called all the people , he said to them, Hearken to me every one , and understand.

[web] . He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand.

[cbgb] 从外面进去的,不能污秽人,惟有从里面出来的,乃能污秽人。(有古卷在此有, < | >
[niv] Nothing outside a man can make him `unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him `unclean.' "
[asv] there is nothing from without the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
[jnd] There is nothing from outside a man entering into him which can defile him; but the things which go out from him, those it is which defile the man.
[kjv] There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

[niv] "Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him `unclean'?
[asv] And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Perceive ye not, that whatsoever from without goeth into the man, it cannot defile him;
[jnd] And he says to them, Are *ye* also thus unintelligent? Do ye not perceive that all that is outside entering into the man cannot defile him,
[kjv] And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
[nwb] And he saith to them, Are ye so void of understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatever thing from without entereth into the man, cannot defile him.
[rsv] And he said to them, "Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him,
[web] He said to them, "Are you so without understanding also? Don't you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can't defile him,
[ylt] and he saith to them, `So also ye are without understanding! Do ye not perceive that nothing from without entering into the man is able to defile him?
[bbe] And he said to them, Have even you so little wisdom? Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside is not able to make him unclean,

[cbgb] 因为不是入他的心,乃是入他的肚腹,又落到茅厕里。这是说,各样的食物,都是洁净的。 < | >
[niv] For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")
[asv] because it goeth not into his heart, but into his belly, and goeth out into the draught? This he said, making all meats clean.
[jnd] because it does not enter into his heart but into his belly, and goes out into the draught, purging all meats?
[kjv] Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
[nwb] Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all kinds of food.
[rsv] since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?" (Thus he declared all foods clean.)

7:20

[niv] He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him `unclean.'
[asv] And he said, That which proceedeth out of the man, that defileth the man.
[jnd] And he said, That which goes forth out of the man, that defiles the man.

[nwb] And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

[niv] greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.
[asv] covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness:
[jnd] thefts, covetousness, wickednesses, deceit, licentiousness, a wicked eye, injurious language, haughtiness, folly;
[kjv] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
[nwb] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness;
[rsv] coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.
[web] covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.

[bbe] The taking of goods and of life, broken faith between husband and wife, the desire of wealth, wrongdoing, deceit, sins of the flesh, an evil eye, angry words, pride, foolish acts:

[cbgb] 这一切的恶,都是从里面出来,且能污秽人。 < | >
[niv] All these evils come from inside and make a man `unclean.'"
[asv] all these evil things proceed from within, and defile the man.
[jnd] all these wicked things go forth from within and defile the man.

[niv] Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret.
[asv] And from thence he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered into a house, and would have no man know it; and he could not be hid.
[jnd] And he rose up and went away thence into the borders of Tyre and Sidon; and having entered into a house he would not have any one know , and he could not be hid.

[niv] Then he told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter."

[niv] She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.
[asv] And she went away unto her house, and found the child laid upon the bed, and the demon gone out.

[kjv] And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
