[niv] Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not resort to sorcery as at other times, but turned his face toward the desert.
[asv] And when Balaam saw that it pleased Jehovah to bless Israel, he went not, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
[jnd] And Balaam saw that it was good in the sight of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
[kjv] And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

[bbe] Now when Balaam saw that it was the Lord's pleasure to give his blessing to Israel, he did not, as at other times, make use of secret arts, but turning his face to the waste land,

[asv] As valleys are they spread forth,  As gardens by the river-side,  As lign-aloes which Jehovah hath planted,  As cedar-trees beside the waters.

[niv] Water will flow from their buckets; their seed will have abundant water. "Their king will be greater than Agag; their kingdom will be exalted.
[asv] Water shall flow from his buckets,  And his seed shall be in many waters,  And his king shall be higher than Agag,  And his kingdom shall be exalted.  
[jnd] Water shall flow out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in great waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.

[niv] "God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox. They devour hostile nations and break their bones in pieces; with their arrows they pierce them.
[asv] God bringeth him forth out of Egypt;  He hath as it were the strength of the wild-ox:  He shall eat up the nations his adversaries,  And shall break their bones in pieces,  And smite them through with his arrows.  
[jnd] 鵊od brought him out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a buffalo. He shall consume the nations his enemies, and break their bones, and with his arrows shall smite in pieces.
[kjv] God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

[niv] Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness--who dares to rouse them? "May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!"
[asv] He couched, he lay down as a lion,  And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up?  Blessed be every one that blesseth thee,  And cursed be every one that curseth thee.

[bbe] He took his sleep stretched out like a lion, and like a she-lion: by whom will his rest be broken? May a blessing be on everyone who gives you blessing, and a curse on everyone by whom you are cursed.

[niv] Then Balak's anger burned against Balaam. He struck his hands together and said to him, "I summoned you to curse my enemies, but you have blessed them these three times.
[asv] And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together; and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.

[bbe] Then Balak was full of wrath against Balaam, and angrily waving his hands he said to Balaam, I sent for you so that those who are against me might be cursed, but now, see, three times you have given them a blessing.
24:11

[niv] Now leave at once and go home! I said I would reward you handsomely, but the LORD has kept you from being rewarded."
[asv] Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honor; but, lo, Jehovah hath kept thee back from honor.
[jnd] And now flee thou to thy place; I said I would very highly honour thee, and behold, Jehovah has kept thee back from honour.

[ylt] and now, flee for thyself unto thy place; I have said, I do greatly honour thee, and lo, Jehovah hath kept thee back from honour.'
[bbe] Go back quickly to the place you came from: it was my purpose to give you a place of honour, but now the Lord has kept you back from honour.

[niv] Balaam answered Balak, "Did I not tell the messengers you sent me,

[web] Balaam said to Balak, Didn't I also tell your messengers who you sent to me, saying,
[ylt] And Balaam saith unto Balak, `Did I not also unto thy messengers whom thou hast sent unto me, speak, saying,
[bbe] Then Balaam said to Balak, Did I not say to the men you sent to me,
24:13
[cbgb] 巴勒就是将他满屋的金银给我，我也不得越过耶和华的命，凭自己的心意行好行歹。耶和华说什么，我就要说什么， < | >
[niv] `Even if Balak gave me his palace filled with silver and gold, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the LORD--and I must say only what the LORD says'?
[asv] If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of Jehovah, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; what Jehovah speaketh, that will I speak?
[jnd] If Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the commandment of Jehovah to do good or bad out of my heart: what Jehovah shall say, that will I speak?
[kjv] If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
[nwb] If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do good or bad of my own mind; what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
[rsv] 'If Balak should give me his house full of silver and gold, I would not be able to go beyond the word of the LORD, to do either good or bad of my own will; what the LORD speaks, that will I speak'?

[ylt] If Balak doth give to me the fulness of his house of silver and gold, I am not able to pass over the command of Jehovah, to do good or evil of mine own heart -- that which Jehovah speaketh -- it I speak?
[bbe] Even if Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, it would not be possible for me to go outside the orders of the Lord, doing good or evil at the impulse of my mind; whatever the Lord says I will say?

[niv] Now I am going back to my people, but come, let me warn you of what this people will do to your people in days to come."
[asv] And now, behold, I go unto my people: come, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
[jnd] And now behold, I go to my people: come, I will admonish thee what this people will do to thy people at the end of days.

[asv] He saith, who heareth the words of God,  And knoweth the knowledge of the Most High,  Who seeth the vision of the Almighty,  Falling down, and having his eyes open:  
[jnd] He saith, who heareth the words of 鵊od, who knoweth the knowledge of the Most High, Who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open:
[kjv] He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

[cbgb] 我看他却不在现时。我望他却不在近日。有星要出于雅各，有杖要兴于以色列，必打破摩押的四角，毁坏扰乱之子。 < | >
[niv] "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth.
[asv] I see him, but not now;  I behold him, but not nigh:  There shall come forth a star out of Jacob,  And a sceptre shall rise out of Israel,  And shall smite through the corners of Moab,  And break down all the sons of tumult.  
[jnd] I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not nigh: There cometh a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and he shall cut in pieces the corners of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult.

[bbe] I see him, but not now: looking on him, but not near: a star will come out of Jacob, and a rod of authority out of Israel, sending destruction to the farthest limits of Moab and on the head of all the sons of Sheth.

[cbgb] 他必得以东为基业，又得仇敌之地西珥为产业。以色列必行事勇敢。 < | >
[niv] Edom will be conquered; Seir, his enemy, will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong.
[asv] And Edom shall be a possession,  Seir also shall be a possession, who were his enemies;  While Israel doeth valiantly.  
[jnd] And Edom shall be a possession, and Seir a possession, -- they, his enemies; but Israel will do valiantly.
[kjv] And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
[nwb] And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
[rsv] Edom shall be dispossessed, Se'ir also, his enemies, shall be dispossessed, while Israel does valiantly.

[bbe] Edom will be his heritage, and he will put an end to the last of the people of Seir.

[cbgb] 有一位出于雅各的，必掌大权。他要除灭城中的馀民。 < | >
[niv] A ruler will come out of Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city."
[asv] And out of Jacob shall one have dominion,  And shall destroy the remnant from the city.
[jnd] And one out of Jacob shall have dominion, and will destroy out of the city what remaineth.
[kjv] Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
[nwb] Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
[rsv] By Jacob shall dominion be exercised, and the survivors of cities be destroyed!"

[niv] Then Balaam saw Amalek and uttered his oracle: "Amalek was first among the nations, but he will come to ruin at last."
[asv] And he looked on Amalek, and took up his parable, and said,  Amalek was the first of the nations;  But his latter end shall come to destruction.

[niv] Then he saw the Kenites and uttered his oracle: "Your dwelling place is secure, your nest is set in a rock;
[asv] And he looked on the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said,  Strong is thy dwelling-place,  And thy nest is set in the rock.  
[jnd] And he saw the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Firm is thy dwelling-place, and thy nest fixed in the rock;
[kjv] And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
[nwb] And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling-place, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
[rsv] And he looked on the Ken'ite, and took up his discourse, and said, "Enduring is your dwelling place, and your nest is set in the rock;

[ylt] And he seeth the Kenite, and taketh up his simile, and saith: `Enduring thy dwelling, And setting in a rock thy nest,
[bbe] And looking on the Kenites he went on with his story and said, Strong is your living-place, and your secret place is safe in the rock.
24:22
[cbgb] 然而基尼必至衰微，直到亚述把你掳去。 < | >
[niv] yet you Kenites will be destroyed when Asshur takes you captive."
[asv] Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted,  Until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
[jnd] But the Kenite shall be consumed, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
[kjv] Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
[nwb] Nevertheless, the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asher shall carry thee away captive.
[rsv] nevertheless Kain shall be wasted. How long shall Asshur take you away captive?"
[web] . Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted,Until Asshur shall carry you away captive.
[ylt] But the Kenite is for a burning; Till when doth Asshur keep thee captive?'
[bbe] But still the Kenites will be wasted, till Asshur takes you away prisoner.
24:23

[niv] Then he uttered his oracle: "Ah, who can live when God does this?
[asv] And he took up his parable, and said,  Alas, who shall live when God doeth this?

[kjv] And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
[nwb] And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

[cbgb] 必有人乘船从基提界而来，苦害亚述，苦害希伯。他也必至沉沦。 < | >
[niv] Ships will come from the shores of Kittim; they will subdue Asshur and Eber, but they too will come to ruin."
[asv] But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim,  And they shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber;  And he also shall come to destruction.
[jnd] And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and afflict Asshur, and afflict Eber, and he also shall be for destruction.
[kjv] And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
[nwb] And ships from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Ashur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
