[niv] Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack.
[asv] Be merciful unto me, O God; for man would swallow me up:  All the day long he fighting oppresseth me.

[niv] My slanderers pursue me all day long; many are attacking me in their pride.
[asv] Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long;  For they are many that fight proudly against me.  
[jnd] Mine enemies would swallow up all the day long; for they are many that fight against me haughtily.
[kjv] Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

[asv] In God (I will praise his word),  In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid;  What can flesh do unto me?

[niv] Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.
