11:1
[niv] I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
[asv] I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
[jnd] I say then, Has God cast away his people? Far be the thought. For *I* also am an Israelite, of seed of Abraham, of tribe of Benjamin.
[kjv] I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
[nwb] I say then, Hath God cast away his people? By no means. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, the tribe of Benjamin.
[rsv] I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
[web] . I ask then, Did God reject his people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
[ylt] I say, then, Did God cast away His people? let it not be! for I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin:
[bbe] So I say, Has God put his people on one side? Let there be no such thought. For I am of Israel, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
11:2
[niv] God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel:
[asv] God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:
[jnd] God has not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture says in Elias, how he pleads with God against Israel?
[kjv] God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
[nwb] God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
[rsv] God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says of Eli'jah, how he pleads with God against Israel?
[web] God didn't reject his people, which he foreknew. Or don't you know what the scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel:
[ylt] God did not cast away His people whom He knew before; have ye not known -- in Elijah -- what the Writing saith? how he doth plead with God concerning Israel, saying,
[bbe] God has not put away the people of his selection. Or have you no knowledge of what is said about Elijah in the holy Writings? how he says words to God against Israel,
11:3
[niv] "Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me" ?
[asv] Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
[jnd] Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have dug down thine altars; and *I* have been left alone, and they seek my life.
[kjv] Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
[nwb] Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thy altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
[rsv] "Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have demolished thy altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life."
[web] "Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have broken down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life."
[ylt] `Lord, Thy prophets they did kill, and Thy altars they dug down, and I was left alone, and they seek my life;'
[bbe] Lord, they have put your prophets to death, and made waste your altars, and now I am the last, and they are searching for me to take away my life.
11:4
[niv] And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal."
[asv] But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
[jnd] But what says the divine answer to him? I have left to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed knee to Baal.
[kjv] But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
[nwb] But what saith the answer of God to him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
[rsv] But what is God's reply to him? "I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Ba'al."
[web] But how does God answer him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal."
[ylt] but what saith the divine answer to him? `I left to Myself seven thousand men, who did not bow a knee to Baal.'
[bbe] But what answer does God make to him? I have still seven thousand men whose knees have not been bent to Baal.
11:5
[niv] So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
[asv] Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
[jnd] Thus, then, in the present time also there has been a remnant according to election of grace.
[kjv] Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
[nwb] Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
[rsv] So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.
[web] Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
[ylt] So then also in the present time a remnant according to the choice of grace there hath been;
[bbe] In the same way, there are at this present time some who are marked out by the selection of grace.
11:6
[niv] And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
[asv] But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
[jnd] But if by grace, no longer of works: since grace is no more grace.
[kjv] And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
[nwb] And if by grace, then no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
[rsv] But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.
[web] And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.
[ylt] and if by grace, no more of works, otherwise the grace becometh no more grace; and if of works, it is no more grace, otherwise the work is no more work.
[bbe] But if it is of grace, then it is no longer of works: or grace would not be grace.
11:7
[niv] What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,
[asv] What then? that which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:
[jnd] What then? What Israel seeks for, that he has not obtained; but the election has obtained, and the rest have been blinded,
[kjv] What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
[nwb] What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
[rsv] What then? Israel failed to obtain what it sought. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,
[web] What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he didn't obtain, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened.
[ylt] What then? What Israel doth seek after, this it did not obtain, and the chosen did obtain, and the rest were hardened,
[bbe] What then? That which Israel was searching for he did not get, but those of the selection got it and the rest were made hard.
11:8
[niv] as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."
[asv] according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day.
[jnd] according as it is written, God has given to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, unto this day.
[kjv] (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
[nwb] (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) to this day.
[rsv] as it is written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day."
[web] According as it is written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day."
[ylt] according as it hath been written, `God gave to them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear,' -- unto this very day,
[bbe] As it was said in the holy Writings, God gave them a spirit of sleep, eyes which might not see, and ears which have no hearing, to this day.
11:9
[niv] And David says: "May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.
[asv] And David saith,  Let their table be made a snare, and a trap,  And a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them:
[jnd] And David says, Let their table be for a snare, and for a gin, and for a fall-trap, and for a recompense to them:
[kjv] And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
[nwb] And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling-block, and a recompense to them:
[rsv] And David says, "Let their table become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution for them;
[web] David says,"Let their table be made a snare, and a trap,A stumbling block, and a retribution to them.
[ylt] and David saith, `Let their table become for a snare, and for a trap, and for a stumbling-block, and for a recompense to them;
[bbe] And David says, Let their table be made a net for taking them, and a stone in their way, and a punishment:
11:10
[niv] May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever."
[asv] Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see,  And bow thou down their back always.
[jnd] let their eyes be darkened not to see, and bow down their back alway.
[kjv] Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
[nwb] Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.
[rsv] let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs for ever."
[web] . Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see.Bow down their back always."
[ylt] let their eyes be darkened -- not to behold, and their back do Thou always bow down.'
[bbe] Let their eyes be made dark so that they may not see, and let their back be bent down at all times.
11:11
[niv] Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
[asv] I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
[jnd] I say then, Have they stumbled in order that they might fall? Far be the thought: but by their fall salvation to the nations to provoke them to jealousy.
[kjv] I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
[nwb] I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? By no means: but through their fall salvation to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
[rsv] So I ask, have they stumbled so as to fall? By no means! But through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous.
[web] . I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall? Certainly not! But by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
[ylt] I say, then, Did they stumble that they might fall? let it not be! but by their fall the salvation to the nations, to arouse them to jealousy;
[bbe] So I say, Were their steps made hard in order that they might have a fall? In no way: but by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, so that they might be moved to envy.
11:12
[niv] But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!
[asv] Now if their fall, is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
[jnd] But if their fall world's wealth, and their loss wealth of nations, how much rather their fulness?
[kjv] Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
[nwb] Now if the fall of them the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?
[rsv] Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!
[web] Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?
[ylt] and if the fall of them the riches of a world, and the diminution of them the riches of nations, how much more the fulness of them?
[bbe] Now, if their fall is the wealth of the world, and their loss the wealth of the Gentiles, how much greater will be the glory when they are made full?
11:13
[niv] I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry
[asv] But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I glorify my ministry;
[jnd] For I speak to you, the nations, inasmuch as *I* am apostle of nations, I glorify my ministry;
[kjv] For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
[nwb] For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify my office:
[rsv] Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
[web] For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry;
[ylt] For to you I speak -- to the nations -- inasmuch as I am indeed an apostle of nations, my ministration I do glorify;
[bbe] But I say to you, Gentiles, in so far as I am the Apostle of the Gentiles, I make much of my position:
11:14
[niv] in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.
[asv] if by any means I may provoke to jealousy them that are my flesh, and may save some of them.
[jnd] if by any means I shall provoke to jealousy my flesh, and shall save some from among them.
[kjv] If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
[nwb] If by any means I may incite to emulation my flesh, and may save some of them.
[rsv] in order to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them.
[web] if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.
[ylt] if by any means I shall arouse to jealousy mine own flesh, and shall save some of them,
[bbe] If in any way those who are of my flesh may be moved to envy, so that some of them may get salvation by me.
11:15
[niv] For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
[asv] For if the casting away of them is the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
[jnd] For if their casting away world's reconciliation, what reception but life from among dead?
[kjv] For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
[nwb] For if the rejection of them the reconciling of the world, what the receiving , but life from the dead?
[rsv] For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?
[web] For if the rejection of them the reconciling of the world, what would the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
[ylt] for if the casting away of them a reconciliation of the world, what the reception -- if not life out of the dead?
[bbe] For, if by their putting away, the rest of men have been made friends with God, what will their coming back again be, but life from the dead?
11:16
[niv] If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
[asv] And if the firstfruit is holy, so is the lump: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
[jnd] Now if the first-fruit holy, the lump also; and if the root holy, the branches also.
[kjv] For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
[nwb] For if the first fruit holy, the lump also and if the root holy, so the branches.
[rsv] If the dough offered as first fruits is holy, so is the whole lump; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
[web] If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches.
[ylt] and if the first-fruit holy, the lump also; and if the root holy, the branches also.
[bbe] And if the first-fruit is holy, so is the mass: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
11:17
[niv] If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
[asv] But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree;
[jnd] Now if some of the branches have been broken out, and *thou*, being a wild olive tree, hast been grafted in amongst them, and hast become a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree,
[kjv] And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
[nwb] And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive-tree, art ingrafted among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive-tree;
[rsv] But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the richness of the olive tree,
[web] But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the root of the richness of the olive tree;
[ylt] And if certain of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wast graffed in among them, and a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree didst become --
[bbe] But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, an olive-tree of the fields, were put in among them, and were given a part with them in the root by which the olive-tree is made fertile,
11:18
[niv] do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
[asv] glory not over the branches: but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee.
[jnd] boast not against the branches; but if thou boast, not *thou* bearest the root, but the root thee.
[kjv] Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
[nwb] Boast not against the branches. But if thou boastest, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
[rsv] do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember it is not you that support the root, but the root that supports you.
[web] don't boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who bear the root, but the root you.
[ylt] do not boast against the branches; and if thou dost boast, thou dost not bear the root, but the root thee!
[bbe] Do not be uplifted in pride over the branches: because it is not you who are the support of the root, but it is by the root that you are supported.
11:19
[niv] You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."
[asv] Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
[jnd] Thou wilt say then, The branches have been broken out in order that *I* might be grafted in.
[kjv] Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
[nwb] Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be ingrafted.
[rsv] You will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in."
[web] You will say then, "Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in."
[ylt] Thou wilt say, then, `The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in;' right!
[bbe] You will say, Branches were broken off so that I might be put in.
11:20
[niv] Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
[asv] Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
[jnd] Right: they have been broken out through unbelief, and *thou* standest through faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:
[kjv] Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
[nwb] Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:
[rsv] That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast only through faith. So do not become proud, but stand in awe.
[web] True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Don't be conceited, but fear;
[ylt] by unbelief they were broken off, and thou hast stood by faith; be not high-minded, but be fearing;
[bbe] Truly, because they had no faith they were broken off, and you have your place by reason of your faith. Do not be lifted up in pride, but have fear;
11:21
[niv] For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
[asv] for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare thee.
[jnd] if God indeed has not spared the natural branches; lest it might be he spare not thee either.
[kjv] For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
[nwb] For if God spared not the natural branches, lest he also spare not thee.
[rsv] For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
[web] for if God didn't spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
[ylt] for if God the natural branches did not spare -- lest perhaps He also shall not spare thee.
[bbe] For, if God did not have mercy on the natural branches, he will not have mercy on you.
11:22
[niv] Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.
[asv] Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God's goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
[jnd] Behold then goodness and severity of God: upon them who have fallen, severity; upon thee goodness of God, if thou shalt abide in goodness, since *thou* also wilt be cut away.
[kjv] Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
[nwb] Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them who fell, severity; but towards thee, goodness, if thou shalt continue in goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
[rsv] Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off.
[web] See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.
[ylt] Lo, then, goodness and severity of God -- upon those indeed who fell, severity; and upon thee, goodness, if thou mayest remain in the goodness, otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off.
[bbe] See then that God is good but his rules are fixed: to those who were put away he was hard, but to you he has been good, on the condition that you keep in his mercy; if not, you will be cut off as they were.
11:23
[niv] And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
[asv] And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
[jnd] And *they* too, if they abide not in unbelief, shall be grafted in; for God is able again to graft them in.
[kjv] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
[nwb] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be ingrafted: for God is able to ingraft them again.
[rsv] And even the others, if they do not persist in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again.
[web] They also, if they don't continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
[ylt] And those also, if they may not remain in unbelief, shall be graffed in, for God is able again to graff them in;
[bbe] And they, if they do not go on without faith, will be united to the tree again, because God is able to put them in again.
11:24
[niv] After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
[asv] For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
[jnd] For if *thou* hast been cut out of the olive tree wild by nature, and, contrary to nature, hast been grafted into the good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature be grafted into their own olive tree?
[kjv] For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
[nwb] For if thou wast cut out of the olive-tree which is wild by nature, and wast ingrafted contrary to nature into a good olive-tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural , be grafted into their own olive-tree?
[rsv] For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree.
[web] For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
[ylt] for if thou, out of the olive tree, wild by nature, wast cut out, and, contrary to nature, wast graffed into a good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who according to nature, be graffed into their own olive tree?
[bbe] For if you were cut out of a field olive-tree, and against the natural use were united to a good olive-tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be united again with the olive-tree which was theirs?

[niv] I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
[asv] For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;
[jnd] For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, that ye may not be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the nations be come in;
[kjv] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
[nwb] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, (lest ye should be wise in your own conceits) that blindness in part hath happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles shall be come in.
[rsv] Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brethren: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles come in,
[web] For I don't desire, brothers, to have you ignorant of this mystery, so that you won't be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles have come in,
[ylt] For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of this secret -- that ye may not be wise in your own conceits -- that hardness in part to Israel hath happened till the fulness of the nations may come in;
[bbe] For it is my desire, brothers, that this secret may be clear to you, so that you may not have pride in your knowledge, that Israel has been made hard in part, till all the Gentiles have come in;

[niv] And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
[asv] and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written,  There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer;  He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
[jnd] and so all Israel shall be saved. According as it is written, The deliverer shall come out of Zion; he shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
[kjv] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
[nwb] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
[rsv] and so all Israel will be saved; as it is written, "The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob";
[web] and so all Israel will be saved. Even as it is written,"There will come out of Zion the Deliverer,And he will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
[ylt] and so all Israel shall be saved, according as it hath been written, `There shall come forth out of Sion he who is delivering, and he shall turn away impiety from Jacob,
[bbe] And so all Israel will get salvation: as it is said in the holy Writings, There will come out of Zion the One who makes free; by him wrongdoing will be taken away from Jacob:

[cbgb] 又说,我除去他们罪的时候,这就是我与他们所立的约。 < | >
[niv] And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."
[asv] And this is my covenant unto them,  When I shall take away their sins.
[jnd] And this is the covenant from me to them, when I shall have taken away their sins.
[kjv] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
[nwb] For this my covenant to them, when I shall take away their sins.
[rsv] "and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins."
[web] . This is my covenant to them,When I will take away their sins."
[ylt] and this to them the covenant from Me, when I may take away their sins.'
[bbe] And this is my agreement with them, when I will take away their sins.
11:28
[niv] As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,
[asv] As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sake.
[jnd] As regards the glad tidings, enemies on your account; but as regards election, beloved on account of the fathers.
[kjv] As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.
[nwb] As concerning the gospel, enemies for your sakes: but as concerning the election, beloved for the father's sakes.
[rsv] As regards the gospel they are enemies of God, for your sake; but as regards election they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.
[web] . Concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sake.
[ylt] As regards, indeed, the good tidings, enemies on your account; and as regards the choice -- beloved on account of the fathers;
[bbe] As far as the good news is in question, they are cut off from God on account of you, but as far as the selection is in question, they are loved on account of the fathers.
11:29
[niv] for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.
[asv] For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of.
[jnd] For the gifts and the calling of God not subject to repentance.
[kjv] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
[nwb] For the gifts and calling of God without repentance.
[rsv] For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.
[web] For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
[ylt] for unrepented of the gifts and the calling of God;
[bbe] Because God's selection and his mercies may not be changed.
11:30
[niv] Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,
[asv] For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
[jnd] For as indeed *ye* once have not believed in God, but now have been objects of mercy through the unbelief of *these*;
[kjv] For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
[nwb] For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief;
[rsv] Just as you were once disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience,
[web] For as you in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
[ylt] for as ye also once did not believe in God, and now did find kindness by the unbelief of these:
[bbe] For as you, in time past, were not under the rule of God, but now have got mercy through their turning away,
11:31
[niv] so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.
[asv] even so have these also now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they also may now obtain mercy.
[jnd] so these also have now not believed in your mercy, in order that *they* also may be objects of mercy.
[kjv] Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
[nwb] Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
[rsv] so they have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may receive mercy.
[web] even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may also obtain mercy.
[ylt] so also these now did not believe, that in your kindness they also may find kindness;
[bbe] So in the same way these have gone against the orders of God, so that by the mercy given to you they may now get mercy.
11:32
[niv] For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
[asv] For God hath shut up all unto disobedience, that he might have mercy upon all.
[jnd] For God hath shut up together all in unbelief, in order that he might shew mercy to all.
[kjv] For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
[nwb] For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
[rsv] For God has consigned all men to disobedience, that he may have mercy upon all.
[web] For God has shut up all to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.
[ylt] for God did shut up together the whole to unbelief, that to the whole He might do kindness.
[bbe] For God has let them all go against his orders, so that he might have mercy on them all.

[asv] O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!
[jnd] O depth of riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and untraceable his ways!
[kjv] O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
[nwb] O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
[rsv] O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
[web] Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!
[ylt] O depth of riches, and wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
[bbe] O how deep is the wealth of the wisdom and knowledge of God! no one is able to make discovery of his decisions, and his ways may not be searched out.
